S8 livestream, Tyrion recap, overall recap (Patreon)

Here's the new livestream, discussing GOT Season 8: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k8f_atsI6d0We'll continue holding public livestreams at ~10pm ET each week after GOT airs. Anyone can watch and chat live, and the links will be posted here so Patrons can watch later.

The Tyrion recap video is recorded, it'll be online for Patrons ~tomorrow. This took longer to make than expected – there's so much depth and complexity in Tyrion's arc, and we worked hard to do it justice, while also keeping the video tight and focussed. Think you'll really enjoy it 🙂

There's time for one more video before Season 8 – an overall recap video, quickly covering each major character, their conflicts and themes, and where they're headed in Season 8.

And then... the end of Game of Thrones begins. Thank you for supporting Alt Shift X through this last giant crazy season!

Hm... This stream was around 4 am for me... Any chance you could change the timing to be a bit more forgiving to us Europeans? I seem to remember being able to catch livestreams for previous seasons. Edit: Maybe move it to the next day? Say 5 or 6 pm ET, so Americans can follow along after getting home from work / finishing homework etc and us Europeans can watch before going to bed? Edit 2: I just remembered that it airs Sunday evening in the US. Europe gets it on HBO Now on Mondays. So aiming for 10 pm CET would probably work well tbh. Edit 3: then again, I dunno how much of your patreon audience is actually from Europe. Switching the time slots might not be worth it in that regard.

If Bran and the Night King are on the same page, who says they're still not enemies. Is Bran the only Stark secretly fighting against a Stark? (Or is he?)

I'd wager the BoW will be almost all of S08E03 and E02 is going to be a giant lead-up-to battle and end with both sides facing each other immediately preceding the end credits.

Did you watch the live video after the show? The red chat constant scrolling on the screen?

The on-screen chat is there for strategic reasons. There's a risk that HBO will take down the livestreams if they think they're just showing the new GOT episode. I have the chat, and the alerts, and the disclaimers, to make it super clear that the stream is a discussion and review of GOT, not a pirate stream. If there's some kind of takedown or dispute, I'm hoping the chat will help argue the case for fair use.
