Dayne update (Patreon)

The Dayne video is huge. It starts with the ancient legend of Starfall, then explores the comic-book inspiration behind Arthur Dayne, and the tragic-romantic themes evoked by his memory. Then we puzzle over Ashara’s romance at Harrenhal, and the intricacies of the tower of joy, with Rhaegar’s prophecies, and Wylla, and Arthur’s death. Then we speculate on the roles of Edric and Darkstar via GRRM’s five year gap, and the possible role of Dawn. Finally there’s some high-grade tinfoil about House Dayne descending from the ancient Empire of the Dawn. And it all ties together into a satisfying overall narrative, without getting too confusing or verbose (I hope). The whole thing’s 20-something minutes long, one of the larger videos we’ve done – and it’ll be done soon.

After the Dayne video, I’d like to do a His Dark Materials video before the HDM TV show starts on November 4. Then we can do more ASOIAF, and an Expanse video before The Expanse S4. So lots of cool stuff ahead. Thanks for your patience on the Dayne video! This is a really cool one.

Thanks
