Timett son of Timett – future Lord of the Vale? (Patreon)

While working on the Varys and Alleras videos, I've started a script about the theory that the mountain clansman Timett son of Timett is actually the rightful heir to the Vale, ahead of Harrold "Harry the Heir" Hardyng. It's a pretty hilarious theory, and surprisingly plausible, so I reckon it's worth a quick video. Here's the beginning of the draft script:
In A Song of Ice and Fire and Game of Thrones, Tyrion Lannister encounters the mountain clansmen of the Vale, “savage” warriors who live as “bandits and outlaws” in the Mountains of the Moon. The clansman threaten to kill Tyrion at first, but he convinces them to fight for him instead, promising gold, arms, and the Vale itself. So the clansmen fight for the Lannisters at the Green Fork and the Blackwater, serve as guards for Tyrion in King’s Landing, there’s some funny banter about feeding things to goats, and by the start of Storm they go their separate ways. So the clansmen play only a minor role in the story so far, but there are actually some really cool theories about them, one of which concerns a clansman named Timett.
So the clansmen are divided into a number of different clans, like the Stone Crows, the Black Ears and the Moon Brothers. One clan, the Burned Men, stands apart from the others – they have a custom of burning away parts of their bodies to prove their courage, as a sort of a coming-of-age manhood ritual. Most men burn off a nipple, or a finger, or an ear, but one man, Timett son of Timett, put out his own left eye, and his fellows were so impressed that they made him their chief. So Timett is one of the main clansmen who guards Tyrion in King’s Landing, and we don’t really learn much about him as a person, apart from his ability to rip out a man’s throat barehanded, but he’s actually the subject of a theory saying that he may be the rightful heir to the Vale – the ruler of one of the Seven Kingdoms.
