Tyrion video out now for Patrons! [uncensored version] (Patreon)

This is the biggest Alt Shift X video ever. Sorry it took so long. Hope you enjoy :)

It’s a bit of an experiment to make such an enormously long, detailed video – so let me know what you think!

(There are a few tiny visual errors in the video that will be fixed in the public video release).

There’s still more to discuss about Tyrion, so there’ll be a Q&A livestream after the public video release – if you have Tyrion questions or ideas to discuss, comment them below and we’ll cover them! With Tyrion done, the new focus is Dune. (As per this Patron vote). The Dune movie is coming out in the United States on October 22 – so the plan is to release a Dune video shortly afterwards, exploring the movie with added details and context from the books.

There’s also an Asshai video on the back burner. (There’ve been delays with some artwork). And I’d still like to make a Man After Man video as a sort of follow up to All Tomorrows. A Foundation TV show is coming out, and Y: The Last Man, and The Expanse Season 6 and The Expanse final book soon… So those are all video possibilities.

And we’ll hold another Patron vote to choose another ASOIAF topic to cover. Maybe we’ll do Jon Snow and Daenerys videos like this Tyrion video. (But not so long!)

So there’s heaps more cool stuff to come. With this monumental feature-length monster of a video complete, I'm keen to make some shorter quicker videos lol.

So so SO worth the wait. This is, hands down, the best video you have ever made. Comprehensive and coherent and thought provoking. Visually absolutely stunning too. I can only say thank you for giving book Tyrion the video he deserved. I feel like you just gave book Tyrion back to me, and cleared the bad taste of season eight Tyrion. (... sidenote, I find it interesting and slightly concerning that you apparently have inside knowledge of what Schwift will do in the future ...)

Absolutely knocked it out of the park, and a massive improvement from the preview a month ago. Not that the preview was poor, but seeing so many complex elements come together like this is incredible. I really think this is probably your best work, and I'm glad to see your guys hard work really paid off with this one. I really do think it's gonna be a hit. Thanks for giving Tyrion the justice he deserves. I guess for the Q&A the only question I have is: Do you think Tyrion deserves/will have a happy ending? I don't mean something generic, like he redeems himself, finds Tysha, and lives happily ever after. But something more bittersweet like the Hound. Because I wonder if he even deserves that sometimes. I think when it comes to fictional characters my empathy kicks in and I just want to see an end to their suffering and see them move on. But if Tyrion was a real person he would obviously have no sympathy from me. Serial killers often have tragic horrific origins yet we don't lend them the same sympathy, why should we for Tyrion.

Let us hope there will be new GRRM material one of these days, so you will have new material to justify smart deep dives. I appreciate the long video. In fact the longer the better. Long videos. Thanks Ashik! I'm reluctant to split videos into parts, tbh. I like the videos to be complete and self-contained, y'know? Hopefully the "chapters"/timestamps feature on YouTube gives some natural break points so viewers can come back later. I wish YouTube had a "continue watching" feature to pick up where you left off.. But yeah if we ever make a video longer than this, I'll consider breaking it into parts haha

This was the best video TO DATE! I would love an in depth book versus show Cersei. I feel like we miss so much of Cersei’s character on the show because we don’t get that inner dialogue

I love the notion of this subject and the core image as a tonic for what the show did. If you want to pursue this vein again, Arya's actual traumatic journey straight thru the Mercy chapter might be a good one. Oh, and very bold of you to dangle an affirmation of Tyrion Targaryen so boldly, and to liken it to Jon Snow's situation. I'm getting darned near a believer. "Do we really need another secret Targaryen?" I refer all to Ser Maynard Plumm on whether we're not all bastards of Aegon IV: "Who says we're not?" and to Mel Brooks as King Louis: "It's good to be the king."

It’s been so long since I’ve read the books so hearing about Tyrion’s darkness is fascinating. Thank you so much for the great video. Definitely flew by time wise. It’s difficult to say what is fate will be but it most certainly will not be a truly happy ending.
