I'm starting to collect video clips for the Stranger Things video...

Working on a new series is an opportunity to experiment, and do things differently – ordinarily, I use After Effects to create clips for GOT videos. With Stranger Things,  I'm trying using Premiere instead – if it goes well, I might start doing the same with GOT..

I've also been reading up on Stranger Things fan theories – they're a funny comparison to GOT theories. GOT theories are often supported by reams of carefully-compiled textual evidence, with dozens of points for and against – while Stranger Things theories are little more than speculation. Still a lot of fun to discuss though (:

Dang, I need to finish watching the season. I'm on episode 4 and loving it so far.

SPOILER ALERT ------------------- Speaking of theories, my wife and I just finished the season last night, and it occurred to me (speculation) that "11" happens to be about the age of the boys in the show, and one of the last scenes is the boys playing imaginary with dungeons and dragons, which made me think of the whole show as this metaphor for being 11, and how it's this super imaginative and adventurous age where your finally old enough to wonder off by yourself on a bike, and also how it's the age a lot of boys experience their first kiss, but then that period of your is gone so quickly (just like 11 in the show), and you're on to being a cool teenager, driving, etc.

Premiere is definitely better for reviewing media and making selects sequences. You can even copy and paste clips from a premiere timeline to an After Effects timeline. Good luck with tweaking your workflow!

Yeah there's definitely a coming of age theme in Stranger Things. Perhaps the monster could symbolise the scariness of growing up, of being dragged into an unfamiliar world..
