Here it is! https://youtu.be/q14AuWiltIw

I'm opting for a somewhat clickbaity title with this one – could have called it "Ashford: will Sansa marry a Targaryen?", but I think "Will Sansa marry Jon?" is also a reasonable title, as well as a much more clickable one.

It was really refreshing doing a short ~5 minute video – the 20 minute behemoths are great, but they're arduous... I need to find a good balance between short and long videos.

Anyway, enjoy the vid! I'll now be finishing the Stranger Things video, and looking forward to the Great Northern Conspiracy and beyond (:

Interesting. I'd be surprised to see any romance between Jon and Sansa in the show, Sophie is certainly against it. Maybe in the books. You may need to do a video on the correct pronunciation of "Sansa" someday :) I prefer the version with the silent "h" like George says https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dcjj0X6h6m0 as opposed to the "san" like "sand" that most people say. But even in the show, it's inconsistent. Sorry for the rant haha.

Havilland

Yeah, it's inconsistent, but I find that to be true for many names in real life. My first name is Shana (shah-nah), but a lot of people call me Shan-nah or Shain-nah or Shawn-nah. They are all pretty legitimate version of how to pronounce my name, they're just not how I say it. As long as her immediate family all say it one way -- and I can't say that they do -- the variations work in that respect.

Maybe she will marry Jon in the show and Aegon in the books. Wouldn't be the first time they streamline the character marriages. But if Jon-Sansa happens then Jon-Daenerys can't and there is no Union of Ice and Fire.

Paul Barry

Whether this theory is true or not, Jon is already the union of ice and fire (whatever that means...). I kinda enjoy watching the show for what it might foreshadow about the books and forcing Jon and Sansa together in the north always just felt to me like there was more to it. This rumouring of them having conflict in S7 might be a red herring to make it more of a shock when it eventually happens. Ah, fun to speculate anyway.

Yeah I've always found it weird that on one hand, Jon and Dany seem to represent ice and fire respectively, but on the other hand, Jon is kind of an embodiment of ice and fire as the son of a Stark and Targaryen. Both conceptions fit, I think..

Personally I stopped paying attention to GRRM's pronunciation when I heard him saying Dothraki as doth-rak-eye haha

Mathieu Lachapelle

Hey, just wanted to say thanks for the shout out at the end of your video! Its always fun to get one.

NemoNova

doth-rak-"eye" pronouncement; was he speaking in the plural? (no matter really, i was just curious).

Alt Shift X

I'm not sure, actually – can't find the video where I saw it.. but yeah maybe the differing pronunciation depends on plurality or something..
