Update: Stranger Things + GNC + Westworld? (Patreon)

Hi guys,

At the moment, my main priority is to finish the Stranger Things video. Working on a new series has been tricky, but I'm pleased with how the vid is shaping up.

At the same time, I've been doing some research and creating some graphics for the Grand Northern Conspiracy video – it's a huge project, and will make for an equally huge video. I expect to be working on the GNC for some time, releasing some smaller vids in the meantime.

Also, have you guys seen Westworld? I saw it on the suggestion of a Patron (thanks Jeff!) and it's a pretty cool new Western-flavoured sci fi / drama show from HBO, with heady themes of artificial intelligence and human nature. It might be worth a video – anyone keen?

Hey Shift, looking forward to the Stranger Things video. I also really liked the Westworld pilot, but think they should finish the first season before getting too into it. It may go downhill. Hopefully not. Either way, it's got a lot of potential, and I'm looking forward to where they go with it.

I think a Westworld video would be really interesting! But I agree with Jason, give the show a few more episodes to see where they're going with the idea.

Really enjoyed Westworld ep1. Has lots of promise. Not sure a vid would work yet though - needs time for themes to emerge. But in a few weeks I'd love to see something from you.

I think you should pump the brakes. In one sentence you are admitting how strenuous it is to create a new video for a new IP, and the next sentence you want to create a new video on a show that has one episode out and I read doesn't really hold up all that well after four episodes. Relax, wait to see if Westworld is as great as some think it is. One episode is all that is out!? There are TONS of shows out there that could use a video from Alt Shift X...

Westwood has great potential, especially considering the news they have already plotted out the end of a 4-5 season story. It may be the replacement for GoT, especially while we wait for the GoT spin-off. But ... yeah, it has only been a pilot, and you're already working on the stranger things video, and a new show has such a huge ramp up in making videos. Makes sense to wait until your stranger things vid is wrapped?

I saw Westworld last night and immediately thought of you. But it begs the question of how much time you have to devote to another series. You could be trading off quality for quantity... not always the best call. I'm with the others and think waiting might be best.

I would definitely be keen for Westworld! But maybe at the end of season 1? It would definitely give you more to work with and more time to finish what you're working on now. :)

Very into Westworld. Though this "The Expanse" idea isn't bad. I'm not sure that "The Expanse" has enough meat on its bones, though.
