And now Serena's troubled and pushy and asking the wrong questions, suggesting the worst ideas. I mean, they are actual sensible things to do, most likely the most correct path to take. Serena is smart, after all. If this whole mess didn't involve breaking the strictest taboos in all of Witch Law, then Evee should probably listen to her friend.

Unfortunately - it DOES involve breaking the strictest taboos in all of Witch Law - and Evee would rather not die. Evee's quite proud of what she's accomplished, given the circumstances. Taking risks, meeting challenges. Dodging questions, fabricating evidence. Fooling the coven, improving her magic. It's unfair she has to give it up - give everything up - just because her supposed friend checked her notes...
