The first three volumes were absolutely great, even in their simplicity. I'll be honest, I barely remember anything after this point and I'm missing the latest seasons as well, so maybe this binge will refresh my mind and give me a different perspective compared to weekly episodes.

okay yeah, Kcoma hit the crackpipe about Ruby and her dad XD i kinda wish Alicia said something cause he totally hit the crackpipe on that one XD still though, Kcoma is one of the most emotional and craziest reactor's i've ever seen and he does cook sometimes. this is certainly a crackpipe one, but it's still amazing how he tried this one! love ya Kcoma!

Not technically necessary, but if you want to show the RWBY Character Short, I would ask to not forget it exists, whether you watch it or not won't ruin it of course, but it is a fun piece of animation.

As much as I absolutely love this volume, I think this is where we start having a real problem, namely Adam. From the trailers, to what motivations we've been given and what little screentime we've had, Adam has been set up to be a potentially sympathetic antagonist and perhaps one who could be a future ally... until this point where they choose to suddenly characterize him as a psycho stalker. What they didn't seem to realize is the ripple effect this would have on Blake's character, who is literally built around the inspiration of Beauty and the Beast, with him as the Beast and the most important character in her story moving forward. I'll get into it later when we see more of the consequences of this choice of development.

Velvets semblance let's her perfectly copy any fighting style she has seen before and her camera uses an incredibly rare and expensive dust to recreate the weapon she takes pictures of, it does destroy the picture though so she can only use it a limited amount of times.

I seriously rewind and rewatch Velvet's fight sequence over and over again every time it comes up. Might seriously be my favorite fight sequence in the first 3 volumes.

i love/hate the repetition of "Sometimes bad things just happen." Qrow says it to Yang as a way to motivate her and say that you have to keep moving forward and adapt. Yang said it to Ruby as a way to say that things are stagnant and you can't do anything about it. I forgot how fun and good the writing is of these first three volumes

Ozpin couldve shielded them if Juane had given them a heads up. I don't blame Juane at all, no one acts rationally/logically when someone they care about is actively screaming in pain. Especially not when they have no idea wtf is happening

Fun Fact: Velvet's camera creates hard-light copies of any weapon it's photographed, but each photo can only be used once (if she wants to use it again, she has to photograph it again). Furthermore, it's actually her Semblance that allows her to mimic the fighting styles of any other Huntsman or Huntress she's ever watched, thus allowing her to use the hard-light copies of their weapons just as well as they use the real things. This is all information that gets revealed in the official novels.

What's sad is I'm somewhat sure had Weiss and Ruby both been with pyhhra they might have actually been able to take on cinder. (Not certain but a much higher chance of victory that's for sure)
