Ok, I had to check ages. Kazuma is 17 while Iris is around 12-13.

Jae

If Megumin said shes older than her the episode before then Iris has GOTTA be the ick age to be in this situation imo.

Barnabars

are there plans to watch the megumin spin off too? its so good

EthanEverhart

Just realized, the mask gives him a power up in the moonlight! That's why he was acting the way he was!

Kallows

Yeah the iris one is worse but don’t worry I’m pretty certain it’s one sided

Ryzomreal

Am I the only one who felt he was much closer to Vanir's personnality when he wore the mask ? Even his words and laugh when he defeated Mitsurugi was almost a rip-off of Vanir. "So these are negative emotions. Savory. Quite savory indeed."

Bocchi In Shadow

Somehow Aqua is becoming a bigger alcholic each new episode and I didn't even know that it was possible.

So. In my eyes, like, Iris having a little crush on Kazuma just feels like that of a child telling a grown up they want to "mawwy them when they're grown up", like, its cute and harmless. He's the first person to ever treat her like a person so like, it makes sense to me. In that same breath tho, Kazuma wanting Iris to fall for him is creepy and fuckin weird he a grown-ass man frfr but he's also our weird pathetic shut-in degenerate loser so I mean at this point it's to be expected of KazuTrash lmao

jdoggivjc

This was IMO the funniest Konosuba episode to date - and I praise the scriptwriters, producers, and VAs because it was NOT this funny in the LN. Funny, yeah - but not "funniest in the series" funny like this episode was. At some point, with the way she's learned to love Kazuma, we've got to get Alicia watching Eminence in Shadow. Cid might become her favorite anime character - all of Kazuma's cool without his creepiness or stupidity.

The point of the orange scarf is that it fucks.

To put an end to all the discussion about ages, here's a fact about the world of KonoSuba A person is considered a legal adult, when their parents deem them capable of leaving their home (Which usually happens when most people are 14-16 in that world, with Megumin leaving earlier than usual which is elaborated on in the Explosion Spin-off) So every Adventurer qualifies as an Adult And for that reason Iris is a Minor in all definitions, both ours and theirs So yes, the age gap alone would make it creepy, but also she is indeed a minor, legally speaking

Ace's Faves

Kazuma popping off and having an Eminence in Shadow moment at 12:35 was crazy. So he can just be a certified menace anytime he wants! That's gonna make him getting bodied by future scrubs even more funny.

Kazuma actually went pretty easy on Mitsurugi in the anime and light novel. In the webnovel Kazuma actually froze the water inside Mitsurugi after waterboarding him.

Honestly, the age thing is the most notable problem with it, but otherwise, it doesn't really feel as bad, mostly due to Kazuma not directing his perverted antics towards Iris at all and because he's somehow not the worst option in the setting for an arranged marriage.

Tim Schulte

Clearly she is 80 and he is only a modest 160

Bowman C.

It’s been a hot minute since I read the novel. But I believe originally, these characters were supposed to be in their 20s. Emphasising the “relatable scummy losers” vibe. But for Japanese market reasons, they got changed in later releases

Bloodcrusnik

Noticed that the princess was holding onto that body swap magic item for her brother, in a previous episode that noble said the only one that has the right to marry Darkness was the prince. So he was probably going to try n swap bodies with the prince to marry Darkness.

PrivateXimmy

Screaming into the carpet is *such* a mood

Cvillain626

6:10 Actually Chris/Eris does trust in Kazuma, she said it before as Eris. I'm not sure why...because he's, well...you know..

Okoga

I could watch Mitsurugi getting dumpstered for 8 hours a day and it would never get old.

KatoBen

The ending to this episode was just so damn wholesome. The fact that she not only recognized Kazuma, but was also somewhat glad he was the one to steal her ring.

Luka Aleksijevic

Obviously the age thing is SUPER weird, however Kazuma has no real interest in her... He just likes the idea of having a princess like him. In spite of it all, Kazuma is not a pedo, he is literally a 16 year old kid

dune rat

Fwiw, Iris approximately the same age as Megumin: Iris' birthday is only a little over 9 months after Megumin's. So although the Iris/Kazuma age gap is slightly larger (4 years, 2 months, and 30 days versus Megumin's 3 years, 5 months, and 27 days), it's not really worth complaining about if you've already dismissed Megumin's.

Alphanime TV

Who cares about age ? It's a cartoon, not even serious, mocking anime and isekai trope. It's just animated pixels on a screen, it doesn't have "age", it's not even real person. Paraheidoly mixed with empathy are a strong thing for sure.
