Ponzu just got eaten, not what you thought happened.

Broccoli Ben

I can’t get enough of this series, let alone this arc, it’s just so god damn good

All Humans carry some amount of Nen, only natural for Ants to grow that ability

Josh Newerth

Welcome to the arc of monsters. Nothing is black and white.

Nytalis

he was just eating her I think relax guys lmao

BigKez0

The average human has a little bit of nen and some people use it without knowing what nen even is, like the fortune teller girl (I think), so 50-100 humans being devoured daily by the queen mixes that life energy all up and she births strong ants capable of seeing and interacting with nen, not necessarily being able to use abilities. Remember the way people see nen is the microscopic pores in their eyes are open, so the stronger ants were born with them already open.

EVIL × AND × TERRIBLE ゴクアク×ト×サイアク Gokuaku × To × Saiaku it be a rhyme. THE × FIGHT × BEGINS タタカイ×ノ×カイシ Tatakai × No × Kaishi kai is...somethin' \_(シ)_/ idk.

Lotus Gramarye

Okay, I want to skip them reacting to Ponzu's death, thanks comments.

james blaire

wheeey double episode lets goo lol

Lexi's Zone

"She won't die she's too cute." Togashi: "Bet?"

MaskedRider

Ponzu was getting eaten. If you remember from the earlier explanation, Chimera Ants don't have sexual organs, they don't even reproduce sexually, so what you think happened is physically impossible for them.

Bolo The Wise

its worth reminding that theyre born after the queen ate humans.. yknow, the creatures who use nen. they arent sure of what it is but its literaly in their DNA now. everyone in the world can use nen to a degree, the key detail is knowing about it to utilize it. Remember that gon mastered zetsu before having ever discovered nen as well! Edit: Oh and as far as im aware and the show stated, they dont have reproductive organs, they just animated that whack as hell.

Yagi di Hoshi

fun fact Reina means Queen in spanish

Rej

The whole bird skewering their prey on a tree branch is a real thing in nature. Togashi probably found that out while researching and thought "huh, this would be fucked up is this was scaled to human size"

Rej

Also want to add the panel of Killua holding the M16s is even wilder in the manga when Togashi just had his simple sketch of killua holding Photorealistic guns

Sniper sougo 13

In the Manga we are told what happened to gyro the anime left this out completely so its not a spoiler. after being killed and eaten by the queen gyro was reborn as a ant but his vicious nature didn't allow him to forget his human memories he remained himself. He left the Queens domain as he saw himself as a King. He left and didn't encounter gon, whether this proves to be fortunate won't be known till they ultimately meet Tldr: gyro became a ant and left this arc for a later arc

Cvillain626

It didn't work this time but I love their combo of Killua stunning enemies with lightning to give Gon time to charge his attack
