Gently Super~

Jasaniel

more one piece ahhhhh! so hype and happy to see you're back! I hope the surgery went well :)

Chamoun101

This is an upload I needed after my depressive episode today.

Iain McDonald

I don't think you have to worry too much about the representation part. Firstly, I believe this is a stereotypical Japanese gay man representation, although I'm not so sure if its more updated to trans women these days, or more likely, a mix of both transwomen and gay men. But the more important part, is that somewhere in the story (won't say where) characters that share this stereotype will play a story role, including one who is one of the best characters in all of One Piece, and I will ****ing fight anyone who disagrees with that ;)

SleepySnorlax

As a virgin whom is 25 I was not offended so anyone else can stfu

Spicy Noodles

Boa is 29 years old here btw, i dont think they ever say it in the anime but shes almost 30

Narrok

Beauty in one piece is completely dependent on that person and their dreams. if you're pursuing or have achieved your dreams you'll be attractive. while if you give up on you dreams or fail to achieve it then you'll end up looking ugly. So the Queens we see have either given up on their dreams or couldn't achieve them. either way they are living their best lives and we love them for it.

vork88

in japanese Kamabakka means trans

Cody Dennings

Bon-chan did mention Kamabakka yes.

Icy

Its nothing against anyone, Oda is pretty progressive, I can't say more without referencing stuff

Jakub Fabian

Who changed Nami clothes? Btw. "Kamabakka Kingdom" can be translate as "Kingdom of only transvestites "

KuroOberon

yeah the "ugly trans woman stereotype" island just makes me feel crazy uncomfortable.

Icy

The video itself seems quiet

iron rabbit

Hahahaha yess she has seen sanji in hell part 1 of 3 😁

BigKez0

Pride month is probably the best time to binge one piece tbh W coincidence. Cannot wait til you meet more representative characters they are the realest ones.

Sam Marsh

With pride month underway, this is the perfect time to get back into One Piece, for this is the month of the okama.

Josh Newerth

Hitting 30 this year and soon will be turning into a wizard. Looking forward to my magic abilities.

Eli Morris

The representation physically is bad in most of one piece till way later on but they are represented as good, loving, strong, reliable, skilled people and allies.

Froze

pure peak arcs incoming, but we talking all time peak

bloodyshadow1

yeah... as a trans person, the stuff in this arc can be a bit hurtful. That being said, I think most, not all, of the stuff from the manga is at least trying to be fun and funny not hateful or hurtful. I think the anime only filler stuff is worse. It's also important to know that this episode aired 15 years ago, the world has changed. there's much better trans rep later on in the show. Sometimes with long running thigns an interesting look back is to see how the creator's feeling on things change over time

YukoValis

Just gonna say it now, Kuma is the goat. I can't wait for you to see more.

Ember Rose

Yeah the Sanji island makes me really uncomfortable so thanks a lot for the message at the end <3 happy pride

Jimmy H Lam

Alicia almost killed me with the most batshit crazy line with the most (IMHO) dissonant tone of voice. "My Baby's Hallucinating!" In a crying sad voice is just so funny.

ChaosSepher

If you were to wake up paralyzed, no idea where you are, and a pair of colossal birds are rolling and tossing you around like a tennis ball, would the first thing that comes to mind would be to try and strike up a conversation?

GaimeGuy

Nami is so abusive towards him even though he shows nothing but kindness.

Randomocity732

Id like to point out that Sanjis Chivalry does not allow him to kick Women, and he kicks no one on this island, just runs away...

Gamer Kane

When is comes to kama I will just say this, the undeniably amazing Bon Clay... That is all.

Randomocity732

They purposely overblow the 'horror' aspect for Sanjis perspective but in reality these are some truly based people. On the representation side i can see it being hurtful but given how Magnificient Bon Clay was in Alabasta it cant be anything more then laugh with them rather than at them. And like Alicia said, some people do look like this, these people exist, are you going to shun their representation? I hope not!

sammy

It's hilariously convienent this is happening during pride month.

Ace's Faves

Them censorship clouds remind me of the Kaguya-sama ova

Ace's Faves

Btw the best sneeze in anime belongs to Gintama. They say "Michael Jackson"

Kampela

11:05 Ah, he clearly is man of great mind. I wonder if he sells them around like my country did. However, considering stories it might not be good idea. Consumers always release last knot to sail faster and cause storm to happen that consumes their boats and/or their lives...

DrewSB

Say it with me now……OKAMA WAY!

Danny

Oh no the transphobic Sanji episodes are coming lol

Jakob Connell

Does streamable have an option for adding a "speed" setting for the video's? Curious as I like to listen/watch these while gaming or working and sometimes 2x speed just works best

Chris White

You indeed have Alicia. Kamabaka kingdom was first mention by Bon Clay, aka Mr. 2, back in Alabaster. we are gonna learn more about it later on this arc. Also, PLEASE binge this ark this weekend. You’re gonna LOVE IT!

FlaschenJoe11

Remember: The only Canon Ships we have are: Zoro X Swords Luffy X Meat Nami X Money

seb

The people on Sanjis island isnt necessarily "Trans women" but Okama. Japanese has a pretty big crossdressing culture so, Okamas are generally Gay men that crossdress (some can be okama and not cross dress). So it can be people in the beginning of transition or just people that do enjoy the act of crossdressing or feminine gay men. Thats is why they are portraid the way they are. Its not to poke fun at trans women, but rather charicaturing the culture of japanese crossdressing.

Yagi di Hoshi

one-guy'd in this stream. luffy's still a minor btw, soooo...back off, hammock. not a virgin since like 26. 31 now, and i don't feel much different before or after. at 31 the only wizardry i feel is...extra muscle cramping?

Yagi di Hoshi

episode 419 is terrible chopper suddenly forgot he can talk to other animals, and then J.K. joanne Rowling took over directorial duties for the Sanji bit. Anyway, Araki & Togashi do a much better job with this related representation with characters like Neferpitou (non-binary, which i think counts for the rest of the Ants) & the transmasc person at the start of Stone Ocean's manga, or heck, maybe even Anasui. Both cases being 6-10 years before this One Piece arc.

KingofYokai

Okama Way! Mr 2 is also an okama, or someone who's trans/in drag. Kamabaka gets its name from that.

Lexi's Zone

ngl, as a trans girl the Sanji side story is a hard watch for me, even knowing the history of the word okama and how it's used in Japan today (note, many still consider it a slur). But on the whole, I consider One Piece a pretty LGBTQIA+ positive work, so I can overlook it.

Gurth-Quake

Lot of people gonna hate me for this but... just to put it in perspective... Hancock is 29 at this point in time and Luffy is 17. . . You guys have fun with that information XD

Zeex

Y'know what I say to that age gap? You tell Luffy he can't have that, if he wanted it and come back to me and tell me how that goes. He's a pirate, against the world government and his brother has a death sentence. We're passed the age thing at this point, mates. xD

Jonathan

Yeah the Sanji stuff is a little rough to watch for me personally. That being said, while the representation is iffy, I can appreciate the message. Especially later in the series with some unnamed peoples.

Sprocket

aww this is when they started makign choppers body smaller and cuter

Rosinante

Due to facts that have yet to be mentioned in the story, I believe there is an argument that the inhabitants of Peachy Island consider themselves to be both AND neither a man or woman. I could be wrong though.

Luka Aleksijevic

Its true Alicia, when I turned 30, pussy justed started dropping from the sky... The only problem is I'm kinda asexual, so it doesn't really change much xD. Also I didn't use a spell so maybe it was just raining pussy
