Sure, Uzumaki as a story can be kind of silly, but still this entire shit show of a production removed so much of the horror due to the animation, pacing, and many issues.

This was a train wreck. The best compliment I can give this episode was that it had me uncomfortable with the snail people being eaten, beyond that everything else was just “meh” at best. Even the Lovecraftian ruins at the end felt disappointing and didn’t feel earned IMHO.

The problem that they fired the original producer who wanted to do 6 episodes in best quality...instead they got a blacklisted one, that would do it extra cheap....

Wendigoon did a great video on Uzamaki BTW. Also I recommend the manga just because it's basically as good as ep 1 all the way through.
