I've been called a cracker, gringo, and so on but I've never found them to be offensive, just silly. I was often bullied for being fat so instead of throwing a fit, I lifted weights. When I was a kid there was a very common phrase I heard all the time, "sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me." I wish people wouldn't get so incredibly hung up on just words.
