NGL I always found it somewhat hilariously ironic how everyone at the Krusty Krab making fun of Spongebob were calling him a baby, as if they're so much more grown up than he is, even though all those adults in the Krusty Krab were literally acting like immature-ass children, including Squidward, who's usually portrayed as more "mature" than Spongebob & Patrick, but I guess his maturity switch flipped just cause he was desperately trying to humiliate Spongebob just for the sake of it... If I had to take a wild guess, maybe because they're all fully aware of just how bad the adult life sucks, and they're secretly jealous of Spongebob still having certain childhood-like benefits that they can't have anymore, so they want to make Spongebob feel just as miserable as they are in order to somehow make them feel better about their worthless selves/lives? I'm sure that's definitely the case for Squidward.
