Plasma

Civil War is the only adaptation I prefer to the comics but the comics Civil War led to One More Day which is probably to this day is still the worst Spiderman comic.

Sonia

Okay thank goodness she has watched Tobey and Andrew Spiderman before getting introduced to Tom's Spiderman

Wubs

well if youve seen the OG spider man trilogy then you NEED to watch the andrew ones. I wont say why but its important

James S

Hawkeye: We haven't met yet. I'm Clint. Black Panther: I don't care. Alicia: Same, bestie!

Technical_Analysis

I love your reaction to Black Panther's "I don't care" I used to feel the same about Clint, though, looking back, I kind of appreciate that he's probably the most professional of the Avengers. Everyone else on the team has tragic past stuff, and an out of their element uniqueness to them. For Clint though, being an Avenger's just a 9-5.

Yolo Samurai

Hey Alicia, I don't want to try and throw stuff at you to watch, but you should definitely watch the Andrew Garfield Spider Man movies before you watch the Tom Holland ones. It would definitely give you some perspective of the differences between Tobey Maguire, Andrew Garfield and Tom Holland.

Yolo Samurai

Also, can't wait for you to see the Black Panther movie since you already love the character.

Fifteen343

I can’t wait to see how you react to Black Panther, that one is a great movie, but the next one up in release order of films should be Doctor Strange with is also really really good

Aerowind

The most heartbreaking part of that final fight is that Tony really thought Steve was about to kill him.

Broford

Alicia’s Marvel Ratings Captain America: The Winter Soldier 9.5/10 Captain America: Civil War 9/10 Iron Man - 8/10 Avengers - 8/10 Captain America: The First Avenger - 8/10 Guardians of the Galaxy - 8/10 Avengers: Age of Ultron - 8/10 Antman - 8/10 Iron Man 2 - 7.5/10 Thor - 7/10 Thor: The Dark World- 6/10 Iron Man 3 - 5/10 Incredible Hulk - 4/10

JSki

Regardless if you want to react to them or just watch them on your own time I definitely think watching the Andrew Garfield Spider-man movies are important to just getting to know and compare all 3.

4 EYES

Highly recommend you react to Andrew Garfield’s Spider-Man, before Tom hollands. I loved your reaction:)

Divi Forrester

I'm just now thinking about how crazy it is that Steve was just sitting there reminiscing about knowing Howard TO TONY and he never had the decency to tell Tony that Bucky killed his parents.

YukoValis

Showing my support for Hawkeye. : ) He has the best motivational speeches and has a strong bond with the best of women. I think he was called out of the blue and retired so he didn't have most of his trick arrows here.

Andhy Salvatore

im refreshing here and on Don's page im really bored

Levin Lugitas

seeing her love sam and bucky is funny considering falcon and winter soldier series

Diuque

Before watching Tom Holland's movie, you should consider watching the other Spider-Man movies for references, mainly before the third one, and it will also give you access to the animated ones, the Spiderverse.

FeynDoKeizaal

I will never undertsand the hypocresy of that secreatry. Showing them the destruction of NY when the Chitauri attacked, while they were about to nuke the fucking city

Zolfried

not only is he engaged to Zendeya.. Tom Holland says he plans on retiring acting and moving back home to GB and start a family.

EnderSlayer366

1:28:15 "bullet-proof glasses?" lmao alicia forgot tony had a solid metal glove on covering the gun

The_Toasted_Chee

No one’ll probably see this but Tom holland forgot that RDJ was supposed to sit on the bed next to him so when RDJ said “ I’m gonna sit here so you move your leg” was just him reminding Holland, and Cap not telling Tony about his parents is the reason he wasn’t able to lift Mjolnir in Age of Ultron

Ben Gross

I’m about to make you feel old, just because you were talking shit about Hawkeye, Tobey Maguire’s first Spider-Man is 2 months older than I am, and I’m 22, will be 23 in the summer 👅

Eric

youd love to see tony be a mentor to spider man, me too

Malkalypse

Fun fact: Tom Holland said he patterned his accent and mannerisms for Peter Parker after Michael J Fox!

Rhodair

If Alicia hasn't seen yet, I hope she watches My Cousin Vinny

Rhodair

I love how Falcon cuts off Lang's apology about "last time" because he still never told Cap about getting owned

SOUL AGONY

Funny thing about Falcon is that red wing was an actual falcon that had a telepathic link

Azi

She did not kill anybody. She is not the one who wore a suicide vest and pressed the button. This is the "trolly problem" Whoever out the people on the track is the one who killed them :D Not the person pressing the leaver.

Azi

1:24:30 YES THE LAIOS TECHNIQUE! It worked against the sirens!

Arashi

While not, technically, a part of the phase 3 playlist. You can watch the Black Widow movie after Civil War but before the next full Avengers movie. Despite being after the Phase 3 capstone movie, it roughly takes place in this time frame.

Kap

"What would call a group of US-based, enhanced individuals who routinely ignore sovereign borders and inflict their will wherever they choose?" The CIA. That's the CIA in no uncertain terms. "If I misplaced a couple 30 megaton nukes, you can bet there'd be consequences" The US has lost 6 nuclear weapons since the 1950s. I think it really really needs to be pointed out that Wanda DID NOT CAUSE THE EXPLOSION. Wanda probably saved more people than were killed. I think a bomb going off in a crowded market will kill more people than it going off a hundred feet in the air next to a steel building.

YukoValis

Tonys conversation with Peter really bothers me sometimes. Peter says "When you can do the things that I can, and you don't, and bad things happen. They happen because of you" This is EXACTLY what the accords would do. The UN would have to approve any action before it happens. That would be them literally not doing what the can.

Moku

Signing the accords was the wrong call, and Tony was the primary antagonist for this movie. Signing the accords was tantamount to selling their souls as weapons to be used by politicians and bureaucrats. Secretary of State Ross, the one who was pressuring them to sign? He's the same warmonger general who was trying to capture and weaponize the Hulk. Vision's theory that major threats were caused by major forces was heavily flawed. New York? That was entirely Loki's impetus. No one on earth had any influence on that invasion. Maybe you could say that Loki's eyes were only on earth in the first place because Odin banished Thor there, or because Thor tried to start a war that wasn't his to start, but ultimately, it was Loki's choices that led to that invasion. DC? Hydra had been rooted into SHIELD for decades, and if anything, that could be directly blamed on the US government of the late 40's, per Project Paperclip inducting Hydra loyalists into their military and intelligence organizations. The Avengers had nothing to do with Hydra's plans to assassinate millions with those airships, Hydra had been building to that for decades longer than the Avengers were even a concept. Sokovia? That falls, in part albeit indirectly, at Tony's feet, and not without significant influence from Loki and Hydra as well. Loki's scepter was used by Hydra to grant Wanda and Pietro their powers, and Wanda amped up Tony's paranoia to eleven, piggybacking on Tony's PTSD from Loki's invasion. Moreover, Loki was the one who brought the Mind Stone to earth, which in turn allowed the Mind Stone to mutate the AI that Tony and Bruce were attempting to create. Following that, Ultron was still sapient and capable of making his own choices - and he chose outright human extinction. A whole hell of a lot of the issues up to this point fall directly at the feet of Hydra, and the Avengers, as a group or as individuals, are the ones who are stuck cleaning up after them. Most, if not all of it was going to happen, with or without their involvement - assuming the earth survived past Loki's invasion at all. A lot of the blame also falls on those same bureaucrats like Ross, who were behind Banner's experiments to recreate the Super Soldier serum, who created mass weapons of war that Hydra could latch themselves into, and who wanted to create an army of Super Soldiers and Hulks and Yellow Jackets. Tony was in the wrong in this movie. As was T'Chala (especially T'Chala, for going for blood before truth, especially after his involvement in calling the Avengers out as vigilantes, if not personally, then by association), Vision, Natasha, and the rest who sided with Tony - aside from Peter, who was really just in over his head and had no idea what was really going on.

Noah Weathers

Oh my goodness, Alicia, you knitting for your dog is tooth-rotting levels of adorable.

Noah Weathers

Three things I have heard that could somehow make the climactic fight even more painful. 1. Bucky is suggested to have been lying when he said “I remember all of them,” very much NOT because he didn’t care, but because at least part of him wanted to goad Tony into killing him in order to end it there. His guilt must have been astronomical… 2. Tony went after Bucky so hard not just because he wanted revenge for his parents’ deaths, but because he KNEW IT WOULD HURT STEVE. Yes, he was in that much pain and full of so much anger and betrayal at that moment, he was actively aiming to kill Steve’s best friend in front of him out of resentment for hiding the truth. And 3. In order to gain an opening to shut down the suit and end the fight, Steve feinted towards Tony’s head, and he genuinely flinched when it happened. Tony genuinely believed in that moment, that a man he had considered a friend for years at that point, was going to murder him. This movie is really fucking depressing…

Noah Weathers

DON’T WATCH SPIDER-MAN NO WAY HOME!!! If you haven’t seen the two Sony Spider-Man movies, you can’t watch No Way Home without spoiling those AND the Raimi trilogy. You will need to watch all of these if you want full, comprehensive context for what happens.

Jyxxe

This film sparks SO MUCH controversy, which I assume is partially because whatever opinion you form about the characters' motivations, nobody has ever argued that it's a bad film. But something that always struck me is how beautifully natural it feels for Steve Rogers to reject government oversight, and for Tony Stark to submit to it. In their original films, their roles would have been utterly reversed, with Captain America trusting in the higher powers, and Iron Man testing the limits of those powers. But this is post-Ultron and post-Bucky. Both of them are changed men, with completely different perspectives and emotional drives, and because we, as the audience, have witnessed those changes happening gradually, to the point where if either person made the any other choice, we'd question the writing quality. Likewise, it makes complete sense narratively why every other character besides Steve and Stark picked the sides they picked, regardless of which side the individual viewer relates to more. Just a great film, one of the best in the entire franchise for sure.

Hayden Stott

I love that each side has a point, there's no one clearly in the right. Tony had a point about the Avengers needing oversight, and I think Steve was wrong to outright dismiss the idea. On the other hand, Tony was wrong to sign the accords as they were written. Should have had his lawyers look it over first cause you just know that now he's basically just another missile for the government to point and fire at whoever they want

Demon king meliodas

I cant tell you all the fucked up shit me and my friends find working at a hotel/resort including a dead guy with a half melted face

ReaperKitty

I remember how hyped I was to see this movie on the night it came out. Good times.

fonz lopez

the most tragic moment in this movie for me was in that flashback right before winter soldier kills howard stark, howard says 'sargeant barnes'. cos he knew him. he was in the war with him. so for him its seeing this guy he hasnt seen since the 40s. just that familiarity and confusion was so tragic.

James William MacShane

I love how you ship Wanda and Vision, you should know about the Marvel show WandaVision

Kap

The easiest way to shoot down the accords is to look at the UNs success rate in stopping global issues. Their greatest achievement is allowing UN troops to trade humanitarian supplies in exchange for little girls as bed warmers/party favors

Arcane_Cypher

honestly im rewatching this for the 3rd time i just love her energy when doing commentary on the mcu films

DDayJayke

She brought up Marvel Rivals and I had to pause. It really has been 2 years since that dropped... Time flies...

Spyrit Raizr95

Wait..... Was that the Dean of MIT? Did Pelton get promoted???

Spyrit Raizr95

PLEASE!!! ALICIA!!! If there ever was a south park episode you watch, please watch season 22 episode 1 "Dead Kids."
