I think it is interesting how Zoro is often framed as one of the more contemplative combatants. Like his fight against Mr 1, with the whole Cutting Steel Sequence (Likely a proto version of Haki), or his fight against Ryuma which was one of great mutual respect. His battle with Mihawk which needs no introduction. Or his battle with Pica which used his full brainpower. Not to mention his team up with Sogeking, and later lone battle with Kaku, where he faced perhaps his most fearsome opponent, in the form of the giraffe. Overall I think he just has some of the best framed fights in general. It really feels like the animators sometimes uses his fights in particular to flex.

It's easy to forget with everything going on, but Zoro fought King after being given the Super Medicine. The Super Medicine fixed all his injuries, with the drawback being that at some point, all the pain from the injuries would come back even worse than before. Compounded with the injuries he sustained from his fight with King, the dude is probably feeling like he just took another Kuma bubble to the face.
