I feel like a big reason why I love this show (besides the comedy and the constant questions you have while watching) is Subaru's VA. Ik he already won an award for his voice work in this show specifically but god damn he is SO GOOD at portraying his character's emotional state !

Ram demonstrating her “rather extreme bit of wind magic” for Subaru is the one and only inference the anime will ever give you that she helped Rem murder Subaru in the forest several episodes back. When Subaru was running away from Rem and her Morningstar, he tripped up because his leg was slashed with a “rather extreme bit of wind magic”. Rem doesn’t use wind magic; Ram does.

God, every time I see somebody react to this version it makes me happy, I prefer the recut so much more, the flow for this arc was improved so much more, glad Alica is still churning through this, albeit at her own speed.

It’s a little bit more than just Rem feeling like she owes Ram for saving her and losing her horn in the process - on top of all of that, it’s that Rem, in just the briefest moment after Ram lost her horn, was elated that it happened because it meant she finally could stand out above her sister. That’s why she loathes herself so much and why she pushes herself so hard all while saying “Ram could do it better” - to punish herself for having that momentary thought.

YESSSSSS MORE RE:ZERO, MY OBSESSION IS FED! An absolutely incredible arc, and the backstory of Rem and Ram is one of the best in the series IMO. The complex feelings Rem carried for so long, all the guilt she felt for just a moment from being relieved that her sister's horn broke off pushing her to be so self destructive and so unable to view herself in a positive light, only for Subaru to show her that it's ok to just be her, IT"S SO PEAK! Hopefully we get more regular Re:Zero but I'm glad we're getting any at all!

More accurately she followed Rem without her knowledge (until she used the spell which revealed her presence) and eventually mercy killed Subaru, that's why Rem said "my sister is too kind". Rem was planning to torture him for information he didn't have so Ram slit his throat with wind magic.

Yes! My favourite show is back 😁 tbh this is the main reason I joined the patreon, glad you seem to be enjoying it :) I've reacted to a lot of people watching this show and usually add context/answer the reactor's questions if they missed stuff (though avoiding spoilers) but you're pretty smart and catching way more than most (including me on my first watch) so I don't have much to add for the last two episodes, just some elaboration on why Rem feels so guilty and the attack on the village since I'm not sure if you caught that or not — Rem for a moment felt glad Ram lost her horn because it meant she was no longer in her shadow and ever since has felt immensely guilty for feeling that way, even if just for a moment. It might even be the case that she could've prevented it but hesitated, as with the parallel later on — when Subaru pushed her out of the way she could've grabbed him to save him from the ulgarms too but she hesitated when she smelled the witch up close. It'll be shown again later obviously but it has already been stated that the "people that caused [her] sister so much suffering" were the witch's cult, so that's who the "Demon KKK" are. I won't confirm or deny any of your theories on stuff that's yet to be shown though, some is right and some is wrong, don't be afraid to put out crackpot theories, it makes it more entertaining to watch to see you try to figure out the mysteries :3

I mean its not a show she regularly reacts to, I don’t know the process exactly but I think she spins a wheel sometimes for shows to react to and Re:zero is part of that wheel, I dont know if this time she has spun the wheel but its a redeemable show clearly as she comented “redeem” on rezero 1x5 Edit: just checked the pinned info, ultimate tier can choose an reaction: Ultimate Tier changes. Oh my god. I'm watching this now and through Rem's flashback, I'm realising Rem goes through something really similar to what Subaru went through with his dad, especially with the "Yeah, she's Ram's sister, after all" stuff. Then after he realises though, Subaru himself sort of takes on the same role his dad did for him in snapping her out of it. Honestly, I didn't think there was anything particularly intentional about the comparison, until he did the 'super slap', which was actually a headbutt. Just like his dad gave him the 'fatherly headbutt', which was actually an axekick. So even if it's not meant to be intentional as in him taking on the same role and it's just a Natsuki family trait to name attacks differently to what they actually are, I still feel like that was an intentional choice on Tappei's part now!
