Next episode might be the series finale. Hopefully the episode is longer so they cover the rest of the manga though!

I wish they made this a longer season. There is not enough content left for a full season 3 unless they REALLY stretch it out, there is only 1 arc between this arc and the short ending. I hope they turn it into a Movie or something, because there is only like 3-4 episodes worth of content left if they finish the Coffin arc next episode. The only other way I could see them able to fit everything into next episode is if they skip an entire arc. If they pull a "If you wanna see the ending your gonna have to read the manga" type of crap, im gonna be mad. I already read the manga, I wanna see it adapted damn it lol.

While the manga has ended serialization, Fukuda-sensei has indicated that she intends to produce additional content in the near future. My personal theory is she is working with the production committee to ensure there is enough content for a full third season. By my calculations it would probably take a 2.5 hour movie to cover the existing chapters. That's pretty long for an animated feature.

I would love for there to be some afterstory stuff where we get to just enjoy them being in a relationship, maybe getting married after a time skip or something. I hope that if they are doing that, that we don't gotta wait like 3-4 years to get that season.

My theory is she is resentful of Marin because Marin represents something Akira wanted to be growing up, but the opportunity was taken from her by her mother. It's misplaced resentment and it's possible she acknowledges it since she could have been truthful to everyone in the scenes hidden from us.

I thought they were going to cut out Juju’s Black Lobelia cosplay as they had cut some lines foreshadowing it and hadn’t included Marin’s costume in the promo images and the OP/ED. I’m really happy they got it in and the manner that they presented the content of these chapters. I really like the budding relationship between Gojo and Akira, I really think such a female friend outside of Marin’s sphere gives him a better frame of reference to define what he feels about Marin. Let’s just say I watched Neil Armstrong set foot on the moon live and there’s one thing I can say is always be doing things you love. And, if you are very lucky you get to do them for your living.

From the way Akiras past Fandom suppressed childhood was reawakend I think she sees marin as the personification of her breakthrough. I'm getting a I don't want to meet my hero vibes. You can't disappoint a photo and a photo can't disappoint you. I think her friends are probably playing it down so as not to freak marin out.

Oh my, Akira is the Gojo of that group. Now that I think about it Miyako does seem to have much the same personality as Marin. Maybe it's the cigar but I am getting big Balalaika vibes off the President Luna character.

This episode, especially the look she gave Gojo when he talked about wanting to make Marin's dreams come true, made me wonder if Akira is actually romantically interested in Marin, but she's just too awkward and shy to do anything about it, so it comes off as standoffishness. After all, Akira has already had one socially-taboo interest of hers thoroughly quashed in her youth - it wouldn't be surprising if she felt that she couldn't be honest about her feelings towards another woman. Her friends' reactions feel like they support that too, like they know something about why Akira is so uncomfortable, but they don't feel that it's a conversation they should be involved in. Maybe I'm just reading into it a bit too much, though, especially as I think more about it and remember that Akira is in college, and this doesn't seem like the kind of anime to have an older person interested in a high schooler like that. But I definitely feel like there is something there, and it isn't hatred.

My theory since last episode is that Akira is like... a SUPER fan of Marin, and that the reason she doesn't like to be around Marin is because she feels social anxiety and doesn't want to give a bad impression of herself to someone she likes. I had a similar experience myself with a VA that I really liked, and just could NOT think of anything to say without it sounding forced or strained. I was so completely nervous that I froze up, while still loving the person and the work that they do.
