Letting the phone continue to ring is such a good tactic to throw someone off. I was thinking about why that scene had such high tension and I think it starts with the continuous camera shot, and the buzz of the monitors, then cranks it to 11 with the phone ringing. When the phone rings it typically becomes the center of attention, even if is to quickly turn it off, so when Hakari just ignores the loud ringing. It throws the other person for a loop wondering why he isn’t picking it up, while Halari can jab with the other persons guard down. While yuji may be a bad liar, him lying about not knowing Gojo was a massive slip up.

Tldr kirara is implied to be trans, Hakari has been said to be straight, and Kirara isnt rlly labled with female or male pronouns to keep it ambiguous. But with the info we have from the creator its pretty clear which one it is

Just to be clear we dont know if they are trans fem but we do know they are trans Hakari later in the series quite clearly states hes not gay in any way. They are only referred to as a "guy" by panda who only saw them pre transition in the manga. After meeting them everyone uses gender nuteral language. Gege drew them pre transition and yes its night and day. So the only real arguement is between if they are a transfem or non binary the only ones claiming they weren't got hit by the reading comprehension curse

We really don't know whether Kirara is trans or just dressing cutely, I would stick to they since translator kinda just slap whatever english pronoun they want. No, whether someone uses Ore, or Watashi does not tell you their gender at all.

They use watashi, Which is exactly inline with a guy that just wants to present more physically feminine and cute, or even someone nonbinary, or literrally just some normal dudet that uses watashi. When it comes to the standard Self pronouns in Japanese the rules on how they are use are just not anywhere near the same as the He/She of English, especially in fiction. Like, you don't just go "they said ORE, only a guy could do that" Totally possible I missed something that really tells us their gender, but this is the flimsiest way to try to argue they are trans.

I'd love them being trans, but the "evidence" people give is "well they were more masculine but not they looke more feminine", or "they use the way of saying I that is more girly" Maybe there is good evidence out there but its buried by people that almost seem like they dont know what being trans is.

So Kirara for me seems to be a girl and large majority see her as a girl because, it’s been established that Panda can’t see gender since he is a panda and just goes based on look, kirara was a tomboy are at least looked like a guy when she was in JJ High, and the misgender was part of the dialogue it wasn’t a mistranslation, it happens in the manga too. TLDR:Kirara is a girl, panda can’t see gender and assumes she is a he based on her tom boy appearance back in school.

Might be SPOILER Because in her HighSchool days she was a major tom boy and looked like a male guy so most people thought she was a guy. Hikari even says later in the manga, he doesn’t want to ride a ferris wheel with a dude, with the context being about romance, so in a way he is saying he isn’t attracted to guys. As Hikari and Kirara seem to be in a close/romantic relationship this show she might be a girl. But nothing is confirmed so yeah she might be trans.

Hakari has stated multiple times he doesn’t like men and when he is alone with a guy he has the ick and Panda used man pronouns since Panda hasn’t seen her in years it was until after meeting her for the first time did he started using female pronouns

I just wish people would stop being so uppity in comments about any time any gender stuff comes up. Like, whether a character is or isn't, just take what's actually stated in the show for a fact and leave assumptions out of it. Far as I know Kirara is never actually explicitly confirmed to be trans. I don't care if they are or not, but people need to stop stating it as fact until it IS. Like, people seem to have forgotten we've had decades and decades of manga/anime characters that are just femboys. Or hell, just a little quirky.

The fact is that Kirara being trans is by far the most plausible and thematically appropriate interpretation of the character. What we do know from the anime and manga is that: 1. Kirara was initially thought to be a man by Panda, who hasn’t seen or heard of her in years. 2. Kirara wears a skirt, has boobs, and speaks in a feminine voice. 3. Kirara has a physically and emotionally intimate relationship with Hakari, an implicitly heterosexual male character. 4. The characters who initially used masculine pronouns for Kirara stopped doing that soon after meeting her. 5. There is no previously unmentioned male Jujutsu sorcerer in the story who Panda could’ve mistaken for Kirara.
