Barto was introduced in Dressrosa, but he is from Loguetown. watching luffy be rescued by lightning is what made him a fanboy and pushed him to set sail.

Very happy they teased Sabo here! Because I'm gonna be honest, the way he was introduced in the manga was....not it. It made me really not care about him, how Oda retconned him into Luffy and Ace's backstory out of nowhere, so showing him this early in the Live Action makes it sooo much better!

While I can agree that Sabo should have been introduced / mentioned sooner, I'm not sure why you feel he's a retcon (unless I've forgotten a moment where Luffy or Ace said something that was retconned later).

Remember. Sabo and bartolomeo were shown and talked about being in those places in flashbacks. Oda is just showing them now to save time.

You are having a Mandela effect: Barto wasn't SHOWN in Loguetown, neither in the anime nor in the manga. His backstory was told after he was introduced and he was indeed in Loguetown and watched Luffy smiling on the execution platform. But we were told that afterward. Also, you may find some post online pointing at some randoms in the crowd and claiming they were Bartho, but that character did not exist at the time Oda did Loguetown.

After watching the episode a second time, I realized why I felt strange watching it. It was because they didn't include the bar scene with Luffy. Yes, it was filler, but it served its purpose. Anyway, the changes are understandable. The live-action makes me feel odd; I enjoy it, but the changes bother me a bit. It's like watching it and noticing every change and it pulls me out of it.

Season 1 had some things that it showed very early, but just episode 1 of S2 knocks that out of the park, with Roger talking about his son, and both Bartholomeo and Sabo showing up, ha ha.

it makes sense too, like we know barto was there and if i remember correctly luffy in loguetown was more or less what kickstarted his whole fan thing, i dont remember much about sabo before dressrosa but yeah, i dont mind when they show characters in places the show mentions them being in and so on.

Barto was in East Blue before meeting Luffy in Dressrosa. Oda said he was a mobster in East Blue and became a fanboy after witnessing Buggy fail to execute Luffy in Loguetown. They definitely cooked with his inclusion into the episode. The live action series is definitely not passing up opportunities to add in things that happen in the story, but were sadly left out of the anime

I don't think there was any "mention" of Sabo being at Loguetown. What I think they're referring to is a person who looks like Sabo (from the back) is in the crowd while Luffy is about to be executed. This is something that is included in the manga and not in the anime.

If you look at the Cross Guild from the perspective of the World Government and the common person, Buggy being in the center of the poster with Crocodile and Mihawk on the sides, looks very much like Buggy is their captain. And no better story than Buggy, a former member of Gol D. Roger's crew, sworn brother of Emperor Red-Haired Shanks, and co-mastermind of the largest Impel Down prison break, making Mihawk and Crocodile his subordinates. Wouldn't you agree?

Barto aka op fan boy (green hair) in dressrosa while talking about it in dressrosa said that he “met” luffy in lounge town when he was fanboying over luffy in dressrosa. I think they are doing it with like how everything lines up together hopefully this helps the confusion beans :))

Jacob Gibson is the actor for Usopp and I agree, he just slides so perfectly into the role that I honestly don't even notice. Like I know Taz is playing Sanji and Emily is playing Nami but Jacob just IS Usopp.

I loved how they included Barto here, and foreshadowed Sabo without showing too much, as both canonically 100% were there at the time. Also loved how they showed us that Miss All Sunday isn’t afraid to kill, they tend to soften or hide it a lot after Robin joins the crew

The reason Barto is such a big fan of Luffy is because he was there in Loguetown and witnessed the moment of Luffy's almost-execution. Obviously he wasn't shown in the Loguetown arc because Oda hadn't invented him yet... but he does give us a flahsback of Barto being in Loguetown during the Dressrossa arc. The only real difference here is that in the anime Barto never interacts with Luffy or the rest of the Straw Hats in Loguetown.

alabasta? and yes since the live action has so much less time than the anime/manga they've squeezed in as many plot points as possible leading to there being spoilers to future arcs earlier than expected, you just have to either be okay with the spoilers or not watch the live action until you've gotten further in the anime/manga

btw, the reason Bartolomeo was in Loguetown in the live action was that he was actually there in the manga & anime too. He may not have been introduced until Dressrosa, but his backstory was always that he became a fan after watching Luffy get struck by lightning on the execution platform. You may not have remembered it because it was a fairly quick flashback.

Love the live action so far, but the storm and the rain was so underwhelming here, in the anime the storm building up till the point of execution then lightning strikes and the rain come, and the dragon introduced in rain it was amazing, they tried it here but was very dull not as amazing as the anime

Bartolomeo become a fanboy after watching Luffy in LogueTown. In the anime you saw him for like a few seconds, but you see him much more in the manga. Sabo didn't appear in the anime, but his silhouette was in the manga.

I was about to question where they got duct tape to tape Luffy's mouth shut in this Age of Sail-era setting, but then I remembered, if anything looks anachronistic, Doctor Vegapunk invented it. Not that he actually ever really did any actual parenting.
