Regarding the overarching plot vs villain of the week topic, I find myself somewhere in the middle - I love both Supernatural and JoJo's (Part 3 being one of my favs); I think it's really more of a case-by-case basis because some shows can do either or both really well and it more or less depends on the execution and overall tone.

S2e13 gonna go crazy

Criminal Minds works well on villain of the week (or the odd double or triple). For me, SPN only started working when they moved to over-arcing plot. The main cast in SPN was only 2 people. They ride into town, kill a monster, ride out. It soon became stale. Once they expanded the world in Season 4 it became a whole different thing (and wildly popular). Here, you have a main cast of 6 or 7, plus side characters. There’s much more variety inbuilt.

This is one of my go to series I love to rewatch. This and golden girls.

so glad you are watching this, i've been wanting to watch it for a while from shorts i saw of it, garcia is my favorite character from what little i saw

jdoggivjc

My favorite side aspect of the series might be the consensual, nonstop flirting between Morgan and Garcia.

It's so satisfying watching both of you react to this show! I caught episodes on TV as a kid growing up and then binged the entire show a few years back. Aaah, still as good as I remember 💖

Beetlefan

I don't know if Ant is reading these but he's right about The Dark Knight. It's not great.

I know why Episodics and seasonal plots work so well together. Stories are like a meal and your brain is "ocd" for completing a meal. The episodic plots satisfy that craving letting the drip feed of seasonal go down easier.

mint

Omg yes!! This is satisfying love to this show and any mystery shows Coz the next season of the apothecary diaries is still by the end of the year or sth. Which btw will you react to it?! No pressure ofc im just happy you are watching criminal minds!!

Can some one explain how this guys legs got blown of when the last time we saw the package it was on the car roof?! Edit: He was in his car with the bomb?! Still doesn't makes sense.

TSP247

Bomb collars are very effective as all around problem, it strikes terror in anyone that sees it on a person and causes panic when the person wearing it goes into a panic trying to find someone to disarm it they have been featured on many different Tv series and movies, though funny enough I don't think the saw movies ever used one but they did use the reverse Bear-trap which is similar in design. because I'm desensitized to Horror after watching horror movies as a child of 6yrs from 4pm until 3am with my caregivers I just watch cop shows and horror movies all the time.

Ah, I said this on stream the other day, but I sat next to Ried on a flight back in like 2012 or 2014? I went to film school, and he's a director as well. We talked the entire 10 hours about films and watched a film together. He was such a lovely person, and I didn't know who he was at first. He was signing his name on his iPad at one point, and even went through customs near him. I knew his name, but didn't put 2 and 2 together. My sister was watching the show like 2 days later, as it's her favourite show, and I was like. fuck, that's who I sat next to. And I had to watch the show after that. again he was super cool for the flight, and from what i've heard in general, but he apparently can be seen on flights decently commonly.

I said it before and I'll say it again, you need to react to Psyche if you've never seen it.

32:40 The issue with shooting a moving tire with a handgun is the bullet will either get embedded into the tire but not blow it, or bounce off due to the thickness, air pressure, and rotation of the tire.

Elaharra

I can only guess he did what i do with heavy objects that would fit and put it in the foot space in front of the passenger seat. If he thought it was his planter he might put it there so if he braked hard it wouldn't fall into that area anyway if it was on the seat.

Elaharra

the cage they had him in was to block wireless signals, it is called a faraday cage, it will block cell phone signals, they did not want the risk of remote detonation from the trigger. At least that is the best conclusion i can come up with based on what i have seen in other media. There is an older Will Smith movie where they do something similar, enemy of the state. Has Jack Black in a minor roll where he plays a serious character, felt weird after knowing him only from comedy stuff.

gaymer_toad

truly peak television, cases are always fascinating and the characters keep you hooked

Lucifer 669

I'm with Ant on the Dark Knight. I liked it when it first came out, but the older I get, the more I realize that the only stand out things are Aaron Eckhart as Harvey Dent and Heath Ledger as Joker. Everything else is just okay.

Fridafuzz

Ant getting real defensive in these Criminal Minds episodes hehe

Baron Salt

Alicia....you might want to prepare for episodes to come because I guarantee you it is not going to end well for every child.

Adam

Still standard procedure to do it as law enforcement if someone's trying to run you down. You shoot the Driver and inertia still causes the car to fucking kill you. Which is why everyone knows that ICE Agent who killed Renee Good is full of shit.

Vash2123

Wow someone else thinks the dark knight was mid. I’m not the only one. Yay! 🤣

Randomocity732

"Mostly male, loner" Maybe because its easier to push males into corners and isolate them?
