You guys have a terrible memory. They have already had a female killer. The college girl who burned people alive because God told her to. I think it was like the third episode. Ring any bells? Edit: I doubled checked and it was actually episode 2. So the second ever episode of the show had a female killer. So I really didn't get that discussion about how this could have been the first-ever female killer on the show.

to be fair, shows like this have a million criminals and psychos that oftentimes feel exactly the same with only the crimes really differing. and with how fucking long these shows last because people love their crime dramas, I don't blame them a bit for already misremembering.

You're right about Ellie's character at this point - she's the new face, new to the whole system of being a profiler, so she's going to ask the dumb questions so that the audience can learn with her. I personally read her question as a little less antagonistic and more "so what DID we learn from that?" because she was second-guessing if she picked up all the details or not. When you're in a new job, you do tend to wonder if everyone else senior to you somehow knows more than you in certain situations, even if you have been trained.

Along with the other points raised, this show is great for Alicia herself to react to, because she has studied psychology. She knows what the actors are talking about, so she can confirm that it's not just "science-speak" to make the characters sound smart.

I dont think the brother said it was a guy he saw. He said he couldnt see a face, the person was very tiny, and had red hair. Easy to assume a guy, but the brother definitely didnt seem to be sure about the gender.

Fuck man...The scene with Frank made me start crying, that was such a good scene. The actor played him perfectly. It's probably just because I tend to get attached to characters quickly, but this show does an amazing job at getting you endeared to one-off characters so you feel sad when they die or get upset.

With that end, we have to also think: the police accused a innocent man and was about to sentence him without much evidence, and there were like 8-9 rings there, so there may be like 5-6 guys probably in prison without much evidence too since those arent open cases, they didnt look at the guy case until the 2nd family was murdered, so if they didnt, that guy would have 4 full sentences without being the murderer

I think the police might have written off the other 6 as murder suicides because thats how the others were set up which is just as sad because the families of those victims would have assumed the worst of the dead fathers even though they were just victims like the rest of their families
