Toonlord

I'm getting flashbacks to quest for Camelot with those augmented soldiers

Chris White

28:07 the subtitles messed up. Chopper said “Heavy Gong” there, but you know how subtitles are.

SimpleSimian

No wonder you don’t remember a lot of stuff that happened this episode from the anime, cause a whole bunch of it didn’t happen and was made up for this version lmao

Cashryn Sins

Originally I disliked the wapol army. But after watching it with you on my second time. I didn't think it was so bad. Thoughts fellow Rattians?

ChaosSepher

Honestly when I thought about it that hit me too

Chamoun101

Seriously, Vivi, your pinky fingers must be broken by now! 😅

Alex Koder

It's changes like bringing up Sanji's Mother now, that have me convinced they want this Live Action to adapt the entire series. Making changes and breaking parts of the story to help newcomers while also setting up for things that will occur in later seasons.

bc@t

"Last episode broke me for this episode to heal me." They really did capture the spirit of One Piece.🤣

Goobert

Quite the opposite actually, they're adding these scenes in to flesh out Sanjis character precisely because they won't get his full backstory and character development during Whole Cake. its already been confirmed the showrunners, and more importantly Oda himself, have a planned set ending for the LA that isn't caught up to the series proper

DDayJayke

A lot of people seemed to not like the live action Zoan transformations, completely forgetting that, these are what the One Piece characters see in their own world. That shit aint as cool as the art style makes it seem in the anime.

darkironyoshi

Eh I think it is more in between. They are doing this to both further develop Sanji's character but also set up for potentially more down the line. Until we get to that planned end point Oda can always change his mind and push the live action further. I am not saying that will happen but it is a possibility.

Thaïsgrün

I never noticed that her and Mr 9 had the pinky finger in common, not until the live action I mean

DDayJayke

I kinda like the Wapol Army monsters

Egregore

Wapol transforming his army is a fun and thematic addition but I hated how their addition cut time from Dalton’s fight with Wapol and removed a lot of narrative agency from the 20 MDs as well as the citizens of Drum Island. I also don’t like how they all got de-transformed the moment Wapol lost as if his powers can be undone by knocking him out like with Sugar. If that were the case Franky’s Wapometal body and half of the Sunny’s hull would disintegrate every night.

Aliulo

Transformed Chopper reminds me of Mr. Hyde from The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, for some reason.

Noxar Void

Eh, that can be explained by him being new to his powers right now, and he'll lose that weakness as he gets better with it—through experience, even if not actual training.

L Freya

These last two reactions were so emotional! It was a lot of fun seeing them, totally worth the wait! This show is going to be wild next season!

Adam

going to sleep isn't the same as going unconscious for DF powers. Sugar still slept and the toys didn't change back. Also worth pointing out Wapometal is, you know, metal. Living Things being affected is quite another, especially given the constant showing in One Piece of how much Willpower matters.

I'm following way too many nsfw accounts to use a name here

Chopper especially, he is supposed to be a monster in his human form. That was a massive part of his backstory. I agree, the art style sort of ruins that in the manga and anime. Even on Fishman Island, Chopper said he doesn't mind if his human form is more monstrous than before, but I think it just looks silly, not monstrous. Though the same applies to his original human form, it just looks kind of funny and cute, not monstrous.

Silver Blade

17:50 LMAO holy fucking shit! that made me laugh for a minute straight. just Luffy being so casual and straightforward -"stretching - with all your saying I think I'm gonna have to beat the piss out of you"

NickAsNickName

keep in mind, the zombie army thing means that Wapol ate his own soldiers. and considering that they somehow lived through it, i'd assume they were eaten whole. i wonder if it would've gone differently if he hadn't

FranklyHam

There are a lot of things that Oda thought of mid-to-late story writing that he knew would have been great to add in a much earlier saga or arc. It really feels like this Live Action is a way for Oda to rewrite with all of the stuff added in preemptively instead of them being retconned. And its soooo good!

NickAsNickName

i wonder if the remake of the early parts of One Piece is gonna do the same

Sprocket

walpol army: "i dont remember them looking this gross" Because it never happened buddy dont worry

Sprocket

fun fact. in a interview zoro's actor was showen a picture of chopper and he went "THATS MY SON!"

Kamvex

If reports of 12 seasons of this are true, and they go at this kind of pace, I feel like there's no reason that we can't potentially get to the end. There are very few arcs that actually need a whole season to themselves. Alabasta is one, Dressrosa the next, and finally as of now, Wano. And if I mapped it out correctly, you can get to Wano for Season 10. Splicing in future Lore of the world and characters here and there will do a ton of the heavy lifting as we go further.

Adam

he did the same to his two guys in the show, remember? this was just doing that even more.

Lucas_oreki

That sounds like a damn optimistic estimation if you land at Wano in Season 10. The estimation that I land on is at Punk Hazard in Season 10, at best. How would you divide them?

Donald Weese

It is a possibility after alabasta there is a lot of filler that they can skip it all depends on how they do season 3 if all 8 episodes are alabasta then maybe but they might be able to cut it down to 4 then we could go straight into skypea and if we keep a pace 10 or 12 seasons could be the whole series of one piece

Kamvex

Sure, Here's how I would see it going forward. Yes, there's a lot of condensing, but if you keep throwing things in here, like Sanji reminiscing about his mom and Brooke showing up in the actual Laboon backstory, you can quickly adjust around those parts as they come up. Season 3 - Alabasta Season 4 - Jaya, Sky Island, Long Ring, Water 7 (Ends with Duel) Season 5 - Water 7 Continued, Ennies Lobby, Thriller Bark Season 6 - Sabaody, Amazon Lily, Impel Down, Marineford, Time Skip Season 7 - Return to Sabaody, Fishman Island, Punk Hazard, Arrival at Dressrosa Season 8 - Dressrosa Season 9 - Zou, Whole Cake Season 10 - Wano Season 11 - Egghead, Elbaf, ??? Season 12 - The One Piece / Final War

Cole Savoie

an earlier episode Sanji mentioned the difference between Baking and Cooking. They are definitely foreshadowing Whole Cake

Robert C. Dona

Fun Fact! The actor playing Crocodile is the same guy who played the high school bully in Toby's Spider-Man!
