Kinger

That’s a real movie theater ad they parody with firecracker it’s for AMC

Ozzyguul

I was not expecting Homelander to get V1

filthycasual22

Well, Sage is never living this fuck up down.

Poet

The more I watch the less I want to watch the show

Umbreeyoree

Kinda saw it coming. Homelander getting the V1 makes the virus somewhat useless so now they have to find out how to make him human instead. A-Train's last words talking about how pathetic he would be without his powers I think has to be what happens to him. He became a god and now he gets to see how meaningless he can be.

OfficiallyGames

Pretty sure the. v1 definition of “Immortal” is basically just super strong and ageless. Still feel like there’s a bunch of ways homelander can still be killed, don’t think we’ve seen v1 be able to regrow or reattach limbs and shit

starlord1997

"There's no hope AND WE'RE ROYALLY FUCKED!" (sausage party)

Scrubthulhu

That final scene reminded me of Voldemort getting the Elder Wand.

Fister Miyagi

Doubling down on my theory that Marie can somehow separate the V1 in people's blood long enough to make them vulnerable and that's the way through Homelander

DiabloAnos

Ok I know the comics more but given this situation, I have 0 idea how they could do this without Soldier Boy's beam, or Marie's blood bending, lol.

Wolphinex

Damn, now That is comedy

MaxValion

Yeah, no amount of V1 prevented Stormfront from getting messed up by Ryan, and offing herself later on (unless we are suddenly shown in the next episode that she's alive and well, and the one entertaining Homelander on the hospital bed was a body double).

phasul

Why doesn't Sage know about the Vought Necklace? Season 5 is really poorly written tbh but I can still enjoy it for the most part.

Ranginald Vagel

I can imagine the writers laughing while they decide on a second character being choked out by their own genitalia in one season

Ranginald Vagel

I dunno man, I am not 100% sure about her plan failing in the first place, but I might be coping. Did you notice that when Soldier Boy and Homelander confronted each other with the V1, instead of looking at the obviously super important faceoff, they take the time to have a scene of specifically Sister Sage looking at Butcher's back? Why would she be checking on Butcher here? Could it be that she wanted Butcher to see Homelander getting V1 specifically? When you combine this with the fact that she old Bashley she's going to Phase 3 when she previously expressed that phase 2 was the end, there are enough clues for me to suspect that she's lying about her endgame to begin with.

BigKez0

Alternatively to kill homelander, Sage makes the V1 then gives it to the boys + Marie

Anzor Wilson

Yeah and remember Butcher was going over all those old Soldier Boy videos, and Butcher and Frenchie were working on some old machinery last ep. So my guess is they are trying to mimic Soldier Boy's energy blast.

THELAW34

The " death gives live meaning" nonsense is so played out and silly. Why are so many writer so suicidal. Here is my hot take, living is good actually.

Goobert

Its cope, in a very literal sense. Quotes like that are poetic coping mechanisms that humanity has developed over time as way to deal with the inevitability of death, its scary so you tell yourself that death is actually a positive because that ever-approaching final date is what pushes you to make decisions and live your life to the fullest. It is quite played out however, yes you'll see loved ones die, but everyone goes through that. Its simply something ingrained in a lot of writing nowadays

MichaelA

I think it was obvious as they clearly massively nerfed him recently, to make it easier for them to make him go back up again without having to go ridiculously over powered to show it.

MichaelA

If she was capable of knowing everything, the entire series is not worth watching. Every scene is what she wants guaranteed and the viewer then knows that. These types of characters are always terrible when done as badly as when she was introduced, where she magically did know everything when it was obviously impossible for even her to have predicted some of it.

Vincent Price

The comic book Sandman does a great story about this aspect. They gave a random man immortality to see if he wants to die and meet up every 100 years to give his perspective. Dream expected him to be begging for death but to his surprise the man stills see so much value in life.

THELAW34

I remeber this comic. Super vaguely, just enough to know that I've heard this story
