I get what is being said about Elle, but in this case she hadn't slept for 36 hours, was highly emotionally compromised from being rudely awaken whilst on holiday, manhandled from her bed and locked up before flying home and having to deal with this shit. That, and she was probably trusting Anderson to look out for her. She probably expected that he'd do the normal thing of staying around, not leaving her alone, so she likely felt secure to fall asleep. I'm calling not her fault on this one.

To be fair to Anderson he was told to just take her home, wasn’t told to sweep the house or anything or that Elle might be in danger. Hotch should have been more clear.

i think he chose them specifically because the mother would tell him stories of her son and his friends, and in his delusion he began to see them as the knights with each act of heroism they committed

So there is a reason why Elle is written this way, it is very much intentional, and you'll find out soon. I'll comment when we get to that episode, it sort of gives spoilers.

I think (although it never specifically says so) he took his daughter because she was delinquent and he feared for her future. His way of dealing with it was slightly extreme, but he doesn’t seem to be the most sane person out there.

No, not really. All Hotch said directly to Anderson was "Anderson? Take Greenaway home." Previous episode, 45:50. Not once did he even say anything about the unsub, let alone the knowledge he had, even when he was speaking to El.
