Yovan_Night (Purple Rain🟪)

I won’t get too upset at Agott for what she said because from her perspective, all she knows is that Coco stupidly used forbidden magic (and possibly killed her mom with it) and then got rewarded for the action by becoming an apprentice. So now that recklessness is around Agott and her friends, creating the possibility of Coco putting them in danger due to said recklessness. Combine that with the fact that Agott has obviously been training hard for likely her entire life while Coco just got handed her apprenticeship, and her animosity towards Coco is pretty understandable/justifiable. Not saying she was right to say what she said btw.

She’s also like 12. Emotional maturity is not what tweens are known for lolol

Yovan_Night (Purple Rain🟪)

Exactly lmao. Her attitude is really understandable rn for the situation, and I don’t doubt that when she actually gets to know Coco some more, she’ll mellow out.

Girl the spells your coming up with, your going to fit in with the fandom. The magic system is detailed enough that people make their own spells that would theoretically work in the show for example, a black hole, schizophrenia, a gun. The fandom is proof not everyone should have magic.

I have my own idea for a type of spell casting using the forbidden Skin Sigils. If you engrave a spell onto a part of your body but leave the circle with a small gap and then engrave a small dot on one of your fingers, you could insta-cast that spell rapidly by tapping the finger with the dot to the incomplete part of the circle. I visualize it looking like Roy Mustang’s Flame Alchemy.

This initial tension between Coco and Agott reminds me a lot about how things started with Luz and Amity in The Owl House, hopefully things will turn out well between them later on. I also love how this series equates magic with artistic pursuits like drawing, as they are both similar in the sense that people work to practice and hone their skill to essentially create something from nothing.

Ah man I completely understood that feeling from coco as I use to be a bit of an artist back in the day and when it didn't have perfect lines I would just erase it and try again and again and again until I was satisfied 😁😂😆

Chase heo

I don't know if anyone knows this but the ending where it transitions into a pop up book art reminds me of tmnt 2012 where at the end of the episode it transitions into a comic book art

I can for some reason not help thinking of Belos, during Qilfreys explanation of why Magic is kept hidden. Not the actual bullshit reason Belos have for it. But the reason he sells to the public. Of keeping Magic out of the hands of the masses. Just think it is an interesting connection.

day 1 rip mom day 2 selling magically enhanced tree

Rell_TheGoat

Yes feel the hate we gotta hate on Agott just as much as she hate on Coco cuz our ain’t gone crashout so we got to😂😂💯until she stop 👌🏾

It's kinda hilarious how they tell us about how Magic essentially became forbidden, because it's so simple and easy to use. Which on its face, sounds kinda silly, but right now you can go over on reddit or places and peoeple have put together black holes and plague spells, using the rules that the show provides, and it now it feels a lot more appropriate that this stuff be highly guarded lol.

kingIDKwhy

She’s also a hypocrite, especially when episode 4 happens

Yovan_Night (Purple Rain🟪)

You mean when she sent Coco out on that test? Eh, I can see the point you’re making but at the end of the day, that was just a test for Coco to earn her apprenticeship the right way. Was it right for Agott to do without asking Qifrey? No. But I don’t think it’s comparable to the danger Coco’s recklessness could put them in. Like, in this episode, she genuinely considered using another variant of forbidden magic in the form of Skin Sigils when she just turned her mom into stone using forbidden magic not that long ago.

My personal favorite is the tattoo one that will either turn you into a nigh-unkillable God that can fly and cast magic at will, or instantly destroy your mind and replace your body with a moderately damp crystal ball.

You go out of your way to imagine toxicity where it isn't. :v

Ace of Blades

Yeah, at the end of the day, it's completely justified spite from an outside perspective, in my opinion. Zero hate for that character when I first saw her here. She's studied diligently in a way that clearly didn't come easy to her, and then gets told that somebody who broke one of their society's rules will be given the same privilege and treated as a peer. And then combine that with the insecurity of a child, and it all makes sense. We as the viewers know that it's not all sunshine and rainbows for Coco, but all Agott knows is that Coco broke the rules and is now ooh'ing and ahh'ing at all the magic she'll get to enjoy without a care in the world; again, purely from her perspective, of course.

Some cut content that wasn't included, the toilet is a portal to space. The witch who invented the seal mysterious vanished.

Man I am really sorry but this made me laugh too hard... Alicia immediately Breaking Bad without knowing it is too hilarious... Cancer surviving witch makes magic drugs, ft. Ant. Alicia: "Ant, it's time to cast!" *makes magic drugs* Ant: "Yeah, Magic BITCH!"

Crawlingchaos03

So our rat Queen will be an Alchemist/Potion in any fantasy world? I see, aye maybe Alica is right about this teacher. Has she been wrong about her toxic animoo crushes?

Egregore

The main problem with the Pointed Hats isn’t that they punish you for using “Forbidden Magic”; It’s that they treat many genuinely helpful, life-saving spells and their casters with the same prejudice that they would show the black hole spell and anyone who knows it. Half of the non-psychotic Brimmed Cap posts I’ve seen on the Witch Hat subreddits, especially r/brimmedhatfolk, were from trans/disabled people who would want to use “forbidden magic” to make their bodies comfortable to live with.

Egregore

This story is VERY Owl House; just with the magic system taken to its logical conclusion.

Bologna Amputation

Whoever drew that bread being pulled apart... what I would give to live in their culinary history.

That magic circle failing reminds me of snother anime in which the new wizard teacher arrives at a high school of super smart teenagers and start traching basics but they argue they already know that, then he put wrong the incantation and ask what would happen and the teens yous said the spell would fail, but he asks them "ok, how?" And they dont know, so he start making the spell fail in different ways but each time he says how it will fail each time, because by trial and error he analized the spell failing in each possible way and can find uses to those "failures" so he tell them that they may say they are afvanced students but they need to go back to basics and redo all over again by analizing each spell in that way to learn how to make use of the failures too, he even teach them that the incantation isnt fully necessary at the end and do a 9 word incantation in 3 words

Lucifer 669

You know, I love how this show isn't using Coco's screw up with the magic circle as a sign that she's some sort of prodigy. She's a kid who messed with something far beyond her comprehension and hurt her mother. There is no upside to what happened.

LethPaskua

not gonna lie, I feel like the english dub made Agott sound way sassier than she's supposed to
