Yeah, it was really a brutal place to end the season, but there's really no good place to end this arc unless they want to extend the season a few more episodes.

it was originally supposed to be a single season of 25 episodes, but there was production problems, so rather than delay it all until next year the released the first half. The remaining 12 episodes are already being worked on so considering the reception this has gotten so far i dont see them cancelling.

But in all seriousness though, I loved everything about this anime, and I’ll happily wait as long as it takes for season 2 to come around (Especially since I’m already up to date on the manga).

Yea a diabolical cliffhanger, but to be fair without this first season being a 2 core there was not an endpoint coming up any time soon, and this current arc flows directly into the next one so it does make some sense.

The manga is still ongoing and with this season we are already at a quarter of the current chapters, i guess they ended here to give the author time to continue the manga because if the anime keeps this pace they would catch up too quickly. My completly uneducated guess but it sounds reasonable enough to cope with 😅

People compare the cliff hanger to DanDaDan but in reality that was barely a cliffhanger, this is much closer to the Kaiju No 8 season 2 cliff hanger - litterally mid action about to pop off and ends.

Okay, but Agott saying “the outsider you’re looking for doesn’t reside at our atelier anymore” could be seen as her starting to respect Coco and see her as more of an equal, a fellow witch. In episode eleven she questions if there is actually any difference between Coco and the rest because she’s able to learn magic and hone her skills just as well as they can. At least that’s how I interpreted it.

Fuck that cliffhanger hurt my soul. Also, the dub was a lot better than I expected. The invisible dude's english VA did a great job! Also fun fact, the JP va for him is the same voice as Mayuri from bleach and Ceaser from One Piece (that mfer keeps getting type cast as freaky dude who experiments on people and I LOVE IT lmao)

It's SUCH an interesting concept that HEALING magic is considered forbidden dark arts in this anime. Ive always considered healing spells to be one step away from necromancy so its really cool to see a world that rejects the good of many for the protection of all
