Lucifer 669

Okay, no spoilers for the campaign, but I think/hope that they're setting up something that was *amazing* when it happened. If you've seen Campaign 1 and the One-Shot, you likely know what I'm talking about.

Dragon0921

Yeah Grog...definitely didnt die like that in the campaign. 👀👀👀

Icy

I never watched the campaign but didn't up to this point several of them died a like a few times and they just got brought back? I play D&D and know depending on level and stuff how hard it is to bring people back so, but this would cost like a 9th level spell to bring back

Lucifer 669

That's how it works in D&D, yes. But they decided to change how death and resurrection works in the show to make things more tense.

The way Matt ran it, resurrections was basically a skill check, with people using personal connections to bring the person back. Based off what connections were used (a personal loved one pleading for them to come back, offering something to a deity, etc), the number needed to roll was lowered. If the roll was too low, the resurrection failed. At least that's my recollection of how Matt would usually run things, making the act of bringing someone back much more personal instead of just gathering the materials needed and casting.

Sam Marsh

The Justice League have The Legion of Doom, Spider-man has The Sinister Six, and now Vox Machina have the Unalive Five.

Aliulo

They put my boy in the full-body nurple machine, what the fuck.

Deathwatch45776

Just wait till the next few episodes. Things get crazy

WillGlacier

Nah you can't fool me! They wouldn't kill off THE fan favorite characters during like the final part of a sho. . . oh right. Campaign. . . Nah he'll be back, probably

Any show comments left in other shows are ignored. You need to leave it on the main page.

Yeah it's more involved but yes, Matt wanted Death to have meaning so he has some house rules, it starts with a set difficulty that goes up the more times someone has died till it can't work. Then through players can do things roleplay scenes to try and lower the difficulty, where they basically are asking the soul of the deceased person to choose life again, then he rolls.

Broccoli Ben

Grog has died a couple times in the Campaign (momenterily and ressurected quickly), but I'm not sure what they're setting up with this ending
