i was rewatching Alicia's reaction of Haykyu when i got the urge to check notification, steel ball run is calling me

Dionysus

Damn that ending song sucks but this is a amazing episode

millecamps

ant asking what happened in the previous episode made me realize i don't remember much of it except the lucky guy, gonna go rewatch the first episode

LocalAubergineMan

Damn it's been nearly 4 years since Alicia and Ant started this journey

WillGlacier

HYPEEEEEEEEE! Also Netflix dropping the op AND the full length song also dropping a DAY before the second episode is amazing. Legit my favorite JoJo opening from the visuals alone (and I fucking love Kroi)

Joseph Law

no pony by ginuwine. sad.

Heartless

So much trivia to go over ^^ lets start with steel ball run wasnt orignally advertise as part 7 could have been the way it was published. The statue that appears is the same one from part one in the joestar mansion. Mountain tim is base on the song Mountain Jam and his house is named Ghost rider in the sky a pretty famous western song. Also i didnt forget its just shhh no spoilers.

Sonic21blast

Potential Yaoi? Girl this is Jojo, the Yaoi comes in pre-baked kek

Ryan valasquez

Loved the intro (after listening a few times, might be my new fav, but man I'm not liking that ED)

Yagi di Hoshi

oh, im not going to bed today huh

Zburgi

We're finally back!

Silentblod

That dude was inspired by the dude that attacks joseph joestar with a cactus in part 2

Yagi di Hoshi

even down to the skull-sun of the desert. i forget if the anime for part 2 included that

Jacowab

it is time for balls

DecoyBlackMage

Mrs. Robinson. Named after the 1968 song by Simon & Garfunkel.

subete_wa

i'd like to point out the similarities between Mrs. Robinson and Donovan in part two. Both are very short fights towards the very beginning of the part with someone using a weird miscellaneous power and both involve cactuses, it has to have been intentional on Araki's part as a sort of callback

Robert Collard

Both Japanese and western JoJo fans are dragging that ED and for many it was even before it was revealed that the song was produced by an accused rapist.

tim othy

Tbf it was just peak moments

tim othy

7:55 which is weird, cause I think they said it was okay to fight each other in ep 1 no? When was self defense the necessary part? They never mentioned weapons specifically

ACVIFOR

They said that they would allow participants to carry weapons because of the 2nd amendment and the fact that there is dangerous wildlife, but they also said that attacking other racers is grounds for disqualification.

FunkyOnion

I like to think of it as a fusion of Donovan and Tower of Gray's fights. Also an early fight, a guy who just loves killing, uses bugs to cause accidents, and loses after being skewered by all sides by a trap.

audrey

ANT I MISSED YOU SO MUCH! it's Harper (souplife)! I had a name change in the past few years lol

Tree

If you look up any official posing art of Johnny and gyro, it's not subtle

MarakamiSG

I'm NOT listening to that AI generated ED bruh

Justin Scott

You know what I didn't actually put togeather until I saw Poco Loco in the op, He was for told by Enya, the fortune teller from part 3 in this alternate reality. Which means he's technically part of the Major Arcana group, as the both the Normal and Reversed 'The Fool'. As opposed to iggy Who got to be just the Normal fool and was the only major arcana not part of Entya's original reading of Stand Users, representing that Iggy was card 0 in the Arcana, often referred to as a wild card or entirely removed from the deck during a reading. Kinda neat they Tied Poco Loco into the group retroactively.

Taylor Lapira

See, this is why I love JoJo's. You can be watchin a story about a horse race in 1890, see a dinosaur in the intro and just say "oh, ok" as if it's not the most out of place thing in the world

Taylor Lapira

Also the intro animation has HEAPS of references to earlier intros. I think every intro gets referenced in some way
