Ronja is such a brave and amazing kid, and when this is all over, she deserves all the love and happiness in the world. I also don’t envy Chief Jarul, if I had to choose between preserving my countries history and culture, or saving such a sweet little angel, it would have been pure agony.

This is Oda showing us that fascists always try to take down education and culture first. It's required for them to take control of things. But I like how Oda never preaches one thing in particular, with the exception of freedom. For example, he also showed how Elbaph was torn over militarism and pacifism. Both have their pros and cons, but he never strongly pushes towards one clear answer. I think that is why people often, mistakenly, think that one piece is "not political".

I mean sommers didn't even realize Gaban was there IN Elbaf so from his point of view he just lost an arm for no reason in a place where he thought he was untouchable apart from maybe Luffy

Fewur

Ronja will make an outstanding queen for Elbaf one day. You won't find a braver soul.

This whole episode is just the Trolley Problem. And just like that the only real answer is to fight the trolly, both options given lead to failure

Orireth

Ronja is a good kid

ChaosSepher

Fighting the Trolly is usually The Luffy Answer.
