Kenjaku

WAR ARC, OOH AHH AHH!!!!!

Kenjaku

Nah, Al being Isekai'd is not a spoiler at this point. We were actually meant to learn about it in season 1, but they cut it due to White Fox not expecting to be able to go past one season.

Isaac

Al being isekaid is actually explicitly mentioned in a chibi episode re: zero has these chibi mini episodes like iruma sukimas that let them explore parts of the story that they couldnt get to in the main anime theyre called break time and theyre a blast they usually release after each episode following the season so therese a bunch of them, it helps because Re:zero is a light novel and not a manga so theres a tremendous amount of content that they cant adapt everything

Cheese

Yeah and because it's actually important info they had to include it somewhere... so they put the reveal in the chibi side series 🤦‍♀️

JuanmaRailgun

I did not know Al was isekai'd. Where did they get that from? because it sounds like a big spoiler to me.

Molly McDougal

It's not a spoiler but from light novel material that was cut from the anime adaptation. It will probably get explicitly stated at some point in the anime because it's pretty important but as others in the comments have noted it was already revealed in one of the "Break Time" shorts that contain additional information and worldbuilding that are in the light novels.

Kenjaku

Yeah, like the other guy said, this should not be a spoiler. Chronologically, this was actually ment to be revealed in season 1, but due to some unfortunate miss management it just never made it into the main anime. Since they don't really have another convenient point in the story to plot it into until the time it becomes plot relevant, it was just revealed during one of the chibi breaktime episodes. Unfortunate, but it is what it is.

Mikal Adkins

At this point someone should make art of Alicia biting the ankles of people she don't like in animes/shows. Lmao

SouthHill

Still feels like a spoiler to me as someone who has not read the light novels, and was unaware of the chibi whatever...

Egregore

Subaru’s amicable relationship with Al is due to them both being isekai victims. There is more to it that will be revealed in the future but it wouldn’t work unless you already knew that about him.

JuanmaRailgun

The what? Wait there's more ReZero besides the 4 seasons so far?

Jae

Thats why he calls him Subaru "Brother". The relationship was born from that fact. They just dont really say taht fact about him or skipped over it. But BOTH characters know.

It’s_Elijah21

Its not technically a spoiler but i do think it fully ruins the little hints they drop throughout this season

WillGlacier

As an anime only, Al being isekai'd is not a spoiler. They just NEVER MENTION it due to the studio being like "yeah, this shit ain't getting another season" (it has fucking 4 seasons and multiple OVA's. They did NOT know ball like that)

Bowman C.

I think Alicia confused Gluttony and agreed. Greed is the chatty bitch who kidnapped Emilia. Gluttony is the one you can’t tell your name to

DeVaunBeats

They specially reveal it in a canon short. They use these shorts a lot to reveal info they don't have time to in the anime but unfortunately they aren't localized. There are fan translations you can find. But we are absolutely meant to know Al is from Japan as well. It's frustrating a lot of important lore gets stuck in the shorts.

DeVaunBeats

It's not. It was revealed in a very important short that aired alongside episode 1 of season 3 but unfortunately those aren't localized. The anime watchers are supposed to get this info in the shorts the release after every episode. You can find fan translations of the shorts though. It just sucks that as western fans we don't get the info that Japanese fans have easy access to.

Somerando9

They do eventually reveal it, in a break time...

Somerando9

Yea she can turn into a dragon. And it's not cgi!

Kevin Julian

If the anime revealed the fact that Al is an Isekai way way way later then wtf why now.

BakaSama

I’m a little concerned that Alicia just using a nickname for the Archbishop of Gluttony might cause some confusion.

Filthy Casual

al spoiler wow shame, every1 gets shame Floof vid 17

Cyber

"Foodie", yeah. Definitely that Foodie. Can't blame alicia though, I had to double back on my first watch too :D

Cyber

yeah she definitely did. Probably due to the nicknaming system :D haha, but I'm sure she'll realize it eventually when the "Juli instead of Julius" name drops. unless she thinks that it's just Juli being Juli drama queen again like in S1 lol.

Cyber

yeah I called that 2 episodes ago, and it's still an unfortuante thing that she didn't clock the 2 separate names now. But it's fine, since she's ahead on those, she probably realized by now that they're in 2 separate locations at the same time.

Cyber

So apparently this isn't really a spoiler because the show, when aired, releases "chibbi break time" clips at the end of some episodes. They weren't localized to the USA english dub due to (of course) mis management , but the author absolutely intended to release that information at this point even for anime viewers. In fact it was supposed to be released in S1 but the studio didn't bother with it because they thought that the show wasn't going to be renewed at the time , and the air time in japanese tv broadcasting bandwith was limited or something. So the author/production needed to share that info with everyone but they couldn't fit it into an episode (since we haven't seen AL in ages) so they put it at the end of S3 E1 post credits, but it was cut out in crunchyroll and other places because crunchy and other streaming platforms decided to make those chibbi clips their OWN crunchy roll entry instead for album organizational BS, and that meant that a few people missed those or weren't aware of those that theyt are canon information to the story that the author intended us to know. It even brings up certain questions like in S1's chibbi episode, we see puck talking to emilia and saying "it's curious how subaru knew puck's name when we haven't met him before elsa attacked you", and puck writes it off that he deosn't see any malice to him, but that he's somehow observant but to be careful around him because he's an overprotective father figure.

Grandmasta

I always LOVE a series that just gets better and better every season. I cannot WAIT to see what it has in store next.

Grandmasta

anyone know if the whole season has been redeemed, and if not, how I can pitch in?

SteveM7

Umm... it is a spoiler for Alicia specifically since she was going to watch those shorts that had the reveal in it (she had a note in the Workflow Doc that said the Mods have those shorts). It was also not aired alongside S3Ep1, but rather a few episodes after it (which is where she would be watching it).

Sean A. Crofts

Heinkel's the shittier version of Reinhard's 'being built different';he drains the patience and energy out of an entire room in an instant.

Ace of Blades

It's wild too, this would've been a *SEASON 1* reveal if they had adapted the scene in which Al admits this to Subaru. But instead, only now once they've realized that this anime's in for the long haul, that it's understandably an important plot point that needs to be remixed into the canon.

RF

You can actually tell he is also isekai because of the way he talks. Like he is the only one other than Subaru that uses modern day internet/otaku lingo. He is not as brain rotten as Subaru but it's there if you catch itn

Infa132

I haven’t seen people mention it yet but “Lusty” has the same Voice Actress as Kumoko, the Spider from Reincarnated as a Spider.

jdoggivjc

Aoi Yuki putting in god-tier work with Capella’s voice. She never disappoints.

Lv6 Esper

i would still consider this a spoiler as the info is from a different form of content than the actual anime adaptation.

Merfhew

Some people say it isn't a spoiler because the anime *should* have included the reveal back in S1, but what the anime *should* have done doesn't feel entirely relevant. For better or worse, that information wasn't revealed in S1, and because there was still a possibility that the anime would bring it up later, that alone made it a spoiler in my opinion. As we learned while S3 was airing, the reveal finally arrived in animated form. In other words, even though they meant well, the light novel readers who shared Al's origins over the years essentially prevented anime-only fans from learning it for themselves through the (admittedly not ideal) chibi short. I think it serves as a good reminder that skipped content *can* appear later, so you gotta be careful when you share. It might not feel like a spoiler to some people, but others feel differently.

Kenneth Stai

Nah fam I get ya. Capella is fantastic

Cole Savoie

Alicia: This character is making me so happy! that must mean he's gonna die

Tim Perry

Well this is the sort of thing that Alicia has explicitly stated in other videos counts as a spoiler still.

ZukuUzu

Yeah the Al thing is hella weird, i still dont get why they cut it but it was supposed to be told in season 1, it's actually mentionef again in one of the small radio-style extra series but thats about it
