Steven is the last person who should worry about knowing what he wants to do. He is half diamond and has changes his age in previous episodes. He is most likely immortal like the gems. When Connie dies, he could bring her back like Lars so she is immortal. Thinking more about how long they live makes me feel more existential about everything.

I doubt that steven is immortal, at most he probably just ages slower then humans so he'll live a lot longer

I ADORE how emotionally intelligent they wrote Connie in this one. Other, lesser, shows may have had the partner in her situation escalate into an actual verbal fight, for the audacity of it all. Yet, Connie, while very much shocked and disarmed by Steven's absurd leap to conclusions, recognizes that it came from a very bad place mentally and is mature enough let him down as easy as possible. Even trying her darndest to ensure he WAS okay after the fact.
