I am glad you like the dub. I believe it is so good because it was always intended to be in English. The story writers are Polish. The company who did the game is Polish and the guy who created the Cyberpunk roleplay setting that both are based off is American and worked very closely with this Polish company. While the story was surely initially written in Polish they would have likely delivered an English version to Studio Trigger to turn into an Anime. After all English is the common international business language and a common language for people in both counties. Studio Trigger did create the screenplay which was probably Japanese and then it was dubbed back into English. But it was always intended to be delivered on Netflix. So English was not an after thought but the target.

So much of the setting gets lost apart from the English version. The setting is an alternate future US west coast planned city. The lingo is true to the Cyberpunk setting. Chooms, gonks, cyberware, ice, ripper docs, edge runners, all that. Gloria having a Mexican accent, the ripper having a Jamaican accent. You noticed that those bikers were speaking Japanese. They are from a gang called the Tiger Claws, a japanese gang. In a later episode you heard Wakako, another fixer, talking to David. She is an important character in the game and they actually used the same voice actress as in the game. Having played the game I thought it was so cool to hear that familiar voice.

So it is really the English version of the Anime that matches the setting of both the game and the old roleplaying setting and the way the story really would have happened. That is why I think this version of the anime is so good and why it is unique in being probably the only anime that is best experienced in English.

Not another Dub elitist. I've yet to find an anime where the English Dub is genuinely bad.

9:50 thats a good forshadowing observation of kiwi lol. Shes kinda like Lucy if Lucy never found David.

I agree that the eng dub is so good, in japanese many of the cyberpunk words get lost. For me the design between Lucy and Kiwi was different enough that i seem to have not noticed the similarities. But as you said it...they have a lot of things similar. And as the story on folds that has to be on purpose. Huh...never knew where the therm Fixer came from, and i play the tabletop game. But that explains alot, Fixers are thoese who the the Missions for your Group/Gang. Have you a background in film? Or where did you pick up that knowlage? I like Lucy, but Rebecca is my favorite female character in the show.

It's crazy how accurate your predictions are.
