When you watch the show again you start seeing even more things like in the storm episode of season 1 you see Azula smile when Zuko's face is getting burned

Verilain

I'm still catching up on this and your other reactions. I can't wait to see you get through book 2 though. It's a fun ride. Book 2 is where it starts being less episodic and more of a serial.

NerdyGothKitty

YOOOO :D Earlier upload than usual; love to see it!

Geno

Our babies being emotionally manipulated. You hate to see it. Book 2 is my absolute favorite book. I'm so happy we're on this journey. ^_^

Runiic

It hurts so much to see Zuzu so happy about something for once just for it to be shoved right back in his face.

You will feel many sad along the way

Oh, Aang totally murdered those earthbenders. I'm noticing now on the rewatch how many times the Gaang bended around the PG rating by simply letting the kills remain unconfirmed.

Rmimaru

Damn, Azula has been on screen for like two minutes and Alicia is already like she's a damaged bean I can fix her. Also I love that you enjoy putting out content for us but please if you need a break for health or just plain burn out, take it.

Let me fill in a few gaps without the spoilers. Azula introduction is the "i want to love you, but you're just so damn mean" character. When she was fighting Zuzu, she psyched him out so bad she didn't even need to bend. She led him to where she would have the high ground and strike the deciding blow, lucky Iroh was there for the save. The topknot in Fire Nation tradition, according to the books is an honor thing. When you lose an Agni kai you shave off everything else but the topknot to show your shame to the rest of the world. Zuko and Iroh cutting them off it them symbolically cutting ties with their family and going into hiding as fugitives. This season, keep a box of tissues on the ready. This is a must, love your content and happy to be a Patrion.

Never stop fangirling. We all do it

I love Azula's theme song when she enters a scene, it instantly makes you feel like something's off about her

I want to mention it now, because it may take some time to find them. There are Avatar Comics, you can buy, that continue the story. They didnt make it into the show. I can reccomend them, and if you have finished book 3, you can read them. But i dont know how available they are, so i mentioned it now. As their covers, and or summery will contain spoilers, maybe let someone else order them if you are interested in the continued story. Or just wait when the season 3 is finished. :D

DARRON TYMES

I hope you’re aware Azula is only 14 years old. She’s Zuko’s younger sister.

Lazy Swordsman

Ah Azula - a really dangerous antagonist has finally arrived :D I'll be honest when I watch Avatar I'm always so much more interested in the Zuko-Iroh storyline than the actual Avatar's story. I just love those two so much!

AtLA is, in my opinion, one of the best shows in terms of consistency. Not just consistency in character development, but also in making things that happen in past episodes (like Iroh redirecting the lightning bolt) matter or giving them a new context.

Nakama Forever

The beginning of book two does not disappoint. I kind of like Azula's character. She is such a great villain

Y not

Just FYI, this is the only episode under the tag ATLA Book 2, all the series has been uploaded to the OG tag but this one

Spoiler, But one thing I hate is that Zuko isn't the one to finish off Azula. I get you could attribute it to him learning that he can let go of his ambition and live free of the burden of trying to live up to others' expectations, but man, it would've just been so much better if we had a scene of Azula losing her mind, yelling at Zuko as he stays calming, contrasting this episode's fight with her.
