It is super crazy to get to Mars and back in 2 weeks. The latest mission to Mars (as far as I'm aware) is the Perseverence rover which was launched 30 July 2020 and landed 18 February 2021. That's about as fast as it's currently possible to go to Mars. Mars' atmosphere is the most similar to Earth's in the Solar system but it's still very, very different. It's a lot thinner, less than 1% of the voume of Earth's atmosphere. It's mainly composed of carbon dioxide, like 95% whereas Earth's atmosphere is like 0.04%. Earth's atmosphere is mostly nitrogen whereas Mars' atmosphere is only like 3% nitrogen. A very small part oxygen as well, about 0.2%. It's also quite cold compared to Earth, temperatures range from -75 degrees Celsius to near 0 degrees depending on region. Mars is cool but the idea of multicellular, let alone intelligent, life on Mars is sadly not possible according to what we know of the planet. Cool sci fi idea, though.

The Mars storyline is pretty confusing but basically what happened is that one of the humans got taken over by the sequids and stayed behind on Mars and one of the shapeshifting Martians (Just like Martian-man that got killed in episode 1) took that vacant spot to impersonate a human and got back to Earth with the rest of the crew. This is pretty hard to notice for most people on first watch because they never foreshadow it or anything, it just happens lmao

Y'know... I just realized something. Unless he gave that rock to Cecil's scientists to get them to look over that rock... Mark probably just gave Amber and her whole family/neighborhood cancer or radiation poisoning. He literally just picked that shit up from off the surface of MARS, the planet with a very thin, very irradiated atmosphere and surface. Any spec of dust getting breathed in or absorbed in the skin or the rock itself being nearby for more than a few days or weeks, and uhhh Amber's gonna need a doctor.

I could be wrong, but to me, it feels like when Nolan says he's scared of what happened to the Guardians happening to Mark, it don't think he's lying, but he's thinking it in a different way from how Debbie is. So Debbie probably takes it as, Aww he doesn't want Mark to get hurt ❤. Where as Nolan KNOWS what happened to the Guardians and him saying that means he doesn't want to have to kill Mark like he did the Guardians(?) I dunno, I'm dumb, so I'm probably wrong
