Did you notice that every plane that Joseph Joestar gets on always crashes?

Kelly Robinson

You would not believe the sheer quantity of JoJo fanfictions (and fanart lol) with stands... ahem... assisting their user in a NSFW manner lmaoooo

UltimateFusion96

Jotaro doesn’t hate his mom quit assuming things and they’ve been showing you that Jotaro is truly a nice guy you two just failed to see it, shoot his mom has always known that he was a good boy like she said she always sees right through him just like any other mother does with their children, also for the last time he didn’t call her a bitch he called her hag or old lady which is what baba means which if you hear Jotaro’s exact words he said baba plus other translations don’t translate it to bitch.

+1 Ant so true bestie

joseph joestar's number one fan

alrighty! finished watching this episode! to start, jotaro does have his good moments throughout part 3, but his overall attitude towards people makes me sour towards him, though-i dont hate the guy at all, hes just one of my least favourite, secondly-yup, be prepared for a lot of great joseph moments, and a lot of ridiculous ones that will have you blinking multiple times in complete shock, i mean-theres no jojo without it. you saw joseph use hamon here, he still has it and his stand, though its far from as strong as it used to be, as he likely didnt continue with hamon training due to trauma. also, its canon that joseph had hermit purple in part 2, it just hadnt rlly awakened (this is stated in an interview with araki, this is not a spoiler), which leads to the theory that thats why hes always predicting things. and finally-dio must smell SO BAD

joseph joestar's number one fan

oh, also, im so glad you like avdol! yeah-his name is either 'abdul' or 'avdol', but the fandom primarily calls him avdol. but anyway-hes SUPER underrated, the most underrated member of our crusader line up for sure! it sucks, bc hes so cool!!! im so glad ur a fan of him

Èl potâtö

- 1 point because ant is ant and those are fly's not ants

It honestly annoys me how so many people who watch part 3 just seemingly forget that almost half of episode 1 is dedicated to trying to force jotaro out of the jail cell THAT HE PUT HIMSELF IN so that he wouldn't accidentally harm anyone with his stand. Jotaro's entire character is laid bare within the first few minutes of episode 1.

Oscar Wright

Just a little clarification on DIO using hermit purple at the end there. Hermit Purple is also Jonathan's Stand. Stands often shape their abilities around existing user traits, so Hamon users are likely to all have Stands similar to hermit purple, it's not necessarily based on blood relations or other connections.

Barnabás Mucsi

You haven't even seen the best character in part 3. It's going to be interesting.

Great vid Alicia, here’s two things to know. 1. Abdul’s name does indeed come from Paula Abdul 2. It’s never explained, but the reason DIO can do the same spirit photo thing that Joseph can is because that is the Stand of Jonathan’s Body while DIO himself has a whole other stand that gets revealed later

RaineM27

Jotaro's attitude towards his mom put me off at the start to, but this was the episode I was like "oh he's just a big mama's boy". Like he wanted nothing to do with this until his mom got sick so he definitely loves her.

Joey Cat

Wait if you got head from your own Stand wouldn't you technically be giving yourself head, Also also if two people with stands get each other off while their Stands get each other off does that count as Quadruple orgasm!? (Spent way too long thinking of this XD).

Joey Cat

Also great upload, Merry Christmas to the Queen and CILF <3

+1 Ant I'm glad that you guys like Avdol, he was my favorite crusader and an all around good boi! Also, I'm surprised that y'all (especially Ant) didn't recognize Walk like an Egyptian as a original song that they used for the ending. It's a really cool thing that they begin to do where they use real life original songs for the endings, something I haven't seen any other show do, probably because Araki is such a huge music nerd lol.

+1 Ant also -1 Ant for yelling at the 16 year old dog

I can actually sorta understand where Jotaro's coming from. If we ignore him being an asshole with a "good heart", you can still see that his rudeness and bad behaviour may be a cry for help. It doesn't matter if he's nice or a prick, his mom and the girls at school will still worship him. It doesn't matter if he's a well mannered gentlemen, or a bastard who beats up strangers, he's going to get off the hook no problem. He feels as though nothing he does actually matters because none of it has an effect on his life or his relationships, making any act of kindness feel worthless. Its the same type of thought process that leads to spoiled kids that are constantly rude to their parents and strangers. His eventual journey in this part could also work in this analysis, as if he doesn't act, his mother will die. His choice actually has a purpose and value this time. If he's an asshole here and doesn't join, it WILL have a negative effect on his life and his relationship with Holly that he can't and won't be able to deny. He wants a reaction to his bad behaviour so he'll feel like there's a point in chosing otherwise and saving his mom's life is a scenario where he can finally have that. Same thing with him saving Kakyoin. If he doesn't act, he'll certainly die, so his actions would also have an effect and value, even if not as great as saving his mother.

Mr. I Like Spam

so paula abdul is what he is named after

I might have jumped the gun, talking about Tarot names when Magician's Red was revealed in episode 1 but now that we know I thought I might share a little about the Major Arcana and their symbolism in divination as we go. A tarot deck consists of the Minor Arcana which is similar to the French-suited cards used in casinos and such except the suits are usually Latin-suited (swords, cups, coins and clubs or wands) and there's a Knight card in addition to the King, Queen and Jack cards. On top of that there's a trump suit called the Major Arcana numbered 0-21 which is the suit where the stand names come from. So far we have: 17 The Star - Jotaro's Star Platinum: Usually depicted as a nude woman holding jugs of water and pouring it, kneeling with one foot in water with a large star overhead. Symbolizes hope, renewal, new beginnings, spirituality. 1 The Magician - Abdul's Magician's Red: Also known as the Juggler, usually depicted as a man pointing one hand towards the sky and the other hand down towards the earth, symbolizing the phrase "as above, so below" which is a phrase that is itself full of symbolism, mainly religious symbolism of Earth as a reflection of Heaven. In front of him is a table with items representing the minor arcana, a cup, a sword, a wand and a coin. The Magician symbolizes potential, resourcefulness, ability, willpower, 5 The Hierophant - Kakyoin's Hierophant Green: Also known as the High Priest and rarely as the Pope. Usually depicted as a priest, a hierophant, sitting on a chair or throne, right hand raised palm forward with middle and index fingers pointing up and little and ring finger pointing down, bridging Heaven and Earth, holding a papal triple cross in his left hand. The Hierophant symbolizes tradition and conformity but also education and knowledge as well as religious belief and spiritual wisdom. 9 The Hermit - Joseph's Hermit Purple: Also known as the Wise Man or the Sage. Usually depicted as an old man standing on a mountain, holding a staff in one hand and a lantern in the other, a few versions of the art also emphasizes his eyes as he's looking forward at the path lit by the lantern or opening his eyes. The Hermit symbolizes soul search, introspection and reflection upon one self, contemplation and seeking to look honestly upon one self. The Hermit also happens to be my favourite card of the Tarot as a person who's had to do a lot of searching to find myself, I have a tattoo of the interpretation of the card's artwork as depicted in Persona 3 & 4 which is minimalized to a lantern hanging above an opening eye. I have my tattoo on my upper left arm and shoulder.

Sade .

I go further beyond and +2 for ant to make up for all the minus

Jargo

I love that Ant's PNGTuber is basically him doing the Dio pose in the photo.

Soul_XIII

that's jonathan's stand

Rat#394

Aaaaaaw, so Jotaro is a tsundere xD

Periwinkle (Secco Mode)

One thing about what they show of Dio's stand power here that's never really explained in the show (just something the author said in an interview so it's not a spoiler) but how dio has a similar power to hermit purple in this episode is because of Jonathan's body. Hamon users who have a stand awaken tend to get a hermit purple like stand fun fact. There's more aspects to Dio's powers and stand that ARE spoilers though so I will keep quiet on that as it's teased the whole show and I wouldn't want to ruin that reveal as it's amazing

Something that others have mentioned before me, but I'll do it anyways: Dio using Hermit Purple at the end comes from the nature of Stands. A Stand is the manifestation of the soul/life force of the user. It is explained OUTDISE the Manga in interviews and other materials that what Dio was using was the Stand of Jonathan's body, created through his Hamon. It was called "The Passion" in the novel "Jorge Joestar", but the canonicity of that Novel is... That novel is INSANITY. Holly also has brambles-like Stands growing in her back, which appears to be the nature of all Stands born through Hamon,, so she being killed by her Stand could be a consequence of awakening to the Hamon-related abilities passed down in the family but having no training at all in it. If she had trained in Hamon, even if her personality was like ti is, she may have been able to control it. It's also confirmed in a videogame that Joseph had Hermit Purple grapped around him while using Hamon during Part 2, he simply hadn't awakened as a Stand User yet, but other characters that were Stand Users could see it. In SUmmary: If you want your own Stand, go train under tibethain monks to master Hamon, and you'll have your own version of Hermit Purple XD.

BigKez0

Dio technically has two stands because he is using Jonathan's body, it is pretty similar to joseph's so thats how he can track where they are in the episode i think. For part 3 most if not all the stands are named using the tarot cards its pretty cool, in all other parts the stands are named after bands, songs, albums and other music-ey related things.

GildedGrimoire

Hell yeah Ant intro, love to see it!

Kawaii Edgelord

Keep trashing Jotaro, I love it. The real stars of this part are Noriaki Kakyoin, Muhammad Abdul, and Joseph Jostar (along with others...)

LampyLust

+1 Ant, I'm definitely among the Dio simps "I know I can change him, deep down he cares for me!!"

Bastiwen

Abdul's (or Avdol) name is in fact based on Paula Abdul lol

James Decker

I honestly think the way they sidelined Holly with her "not being strong enough" to handle her own stand is way worse than anything Jotaro did. It is a product of its time but it still sucks that all the women are made to be useless in a fight up until much later.

Grei Glace

"I can change him" yeah that's the plan, change him from being alive to being dead

Grei Glace

I'll admit I thought the positivity bit was going to get annoying but you went so 100 with it that I cannot hate

VJ Sins

I havent caught up yet, but i feel like i should mention that Dio is canonically bisexual

VJ Sins

This never gets explained in the anime, but rather a side novel, but the Stand Dio has that is similar to Josephs, it is Jonathan's stand, called the Passion. Araki has stated that Hermit Purple is like the embodiment of Hamon when it comes to stands, as hamon was used to predict futures and such. So Jonathan's stand is similar as well due to the Hamon. Also a stand signifies someone's soul. Its a visualization of ones soul, so Dio having Jonathan's stand could mean Johnathan is trapped in Dios body. Once again, this never gets touched upon and is just some more context
