Mr. 2Dirty

In terms of tarot cards, the only one left is DIO, who has The World

Smeef Branson

The prison anime you were asking about might be nanbaka

Secco Mode (Periwinkle)

Fun fact about this OP is that the singers you hear are actually the singers of the past three OPs that came together to collaborate for this one

Yagi di Hoshi

Kinda related to the episode, uhh - I highly recommend peeps to watch the new Puss in Boots movie

Yagi di Hoshi

I GOT THIRD (LAST) PLACE IN A HORSEBACK COMPETITION IN 3RD GRADE. I DIDN'T REALIZE IT WAS A COMPETITION. That 3rd place bronze medal still haunts me even with it not here. It's like, "You're stuck on a pole, congrats, now get outta here!"

Harper

Damn I feel for ant about his brother, my extended family is Q, just hoping my dad didn't get suckered in

Bastiwen

I think the best word to describe JoJo without having to say "It's extremely gay but also not gay at all" like Ant did would probably be "flamboyant". That was a fun story haha

Yagi di Hoshi

My best friend, who has not watched or read JoJo, pointed this out to me - at 40:15 to 40:25 in the video, every movement by Polnareff & Chariot & his fencing sword/piece follows each beat of the BGM there :3 (we are musically inclined) Also, I'm pretty sure Araki might've been referencing Sweeney Todd at the end of this episode, heheh

Divi Forrester

If it starts with a B the show ant is talking about might be Baki the Grappler it's a show about a lot of fighting including tournaments and stuff and I believe there's a prison arc

Bastiwen

If the first guy posessed by Anubis is name Chaka, guess the name of the second guy. And yes, it's a musical reference lol

Zandorum

Stand Stats aren't really defined well until Part 4, at Part 4 or later they matter but Part 3 Araki was still trying to figure out the system.

Sean

Y'all are right about Stand users only having one stand, DIO technically only has one since the other one he used in Singapore and with the crystal ball belonged to Jonathan

Zandorum

There's different kinds of stands. Anubis is an Automatic Stand with the rare subtype of being a Posthumous Stand.

Angel Barrera

Can we talk about how dio’s hiring practices included an orangutan, a baby, the oingo boingo brothers and a sword?

ImJustAObserver

If you look closely during the opening. During the scene they go up the stairs, you can actually see shadows in reference to the Egyptian Gods that the boys will face during their journey to DIO

Nytalis

+What are your abilities? -Sword +Hired

Hollowjac

To answer ant's question baki

Ivan

No pressure Bob :D

Joey Cat

Great opening story time from you two as always, that SMB story man XD. as for that anime about fighting in prison that Ant mentioned the first thing that pops into my head was Deadman Wonderland, but I'm sure good old Bobs goth this!

Cascascap

Dudes fighting in a prison sounds like Baki.Surprisignly they didnt mention the big buff men too. Could also be Jojo Stone Ocean in Netflix

blue cloak

Don't know if this was said before, but the reason for the color shifting is partially due to in the manga even with color art it was never consistent. Every time the characters were colored differently.

Bob

Oh god, a prison fight anime? I am extremely flattered but you'd be surprised how little I know about anime and manga outside of the few series' I obsess over. I don't know... Nanbaka? Prison School? Isn't there a One Piece arc where they go to prison? Deadman Wonderland? Note that I haven't seen any of those shows, I'm just vaguely aware of them. Actually, final guess: Baki. I haven't finished reading Baki since I cuoldn't find the next volume and didn't want to skip one at a certain point but I'm fairly sure there's a prison arc in Baki at some point. Baki, aka Baki the Grappler, is one hell of a series, I started reading it expecting a fairly realistic MMA manga and it's most certainly not realistic but it's very entertaining. Sorry I couldn't help much but please ask me if you ever wanna know about Jojo's or Devil May Cry or Battle Angel Alita or, uh... Warhammer 40k.

This is the difference between a Assassin, Hitman and Bounty Hunter. Assassin: You have to arrange payment first and meet them in person. They're more reliable since they need to have some targets behind them to get the notoriety needed to get clients. Hitmen: Always employed and must be paid regardless of use. They usually have 1 continuous employer, meaning that you have to provide them with equipment and training, but can also ensure that they have sufficient amounts of both. Bounty Hunter: Random dude/dudette you probably haven't even met yet, but only have to meet and pay once/if they succeed. Its not as effective as the first three, but you don't pay a dime if they fail and can have as many as you need.

Sander

The prison fight anime sounds like one of the latest seasons of Baki.

VJ Sins

Could be prison school, record of Ragnaroc, but i cant find anything with a B other than maybe Baki?

VJ Sins

Jojo only used the Major arcana tarot, which are only 22 cards, with only The World left. It could have been more if they used the Minor Arcana too which is 56 cards, the total being 78, but once again, just one card left

Alicia, if you just want your dad to react with you, there are a couple JoJo episodes coming soon that might be able to keep him entertained. I'm thinking 35 if you wanna show him something more tense and dramatic, and 37 if you think comedy is more suited for him. On the subject of dads, mine read the first three parts of the manga back in 2006, and he LOVED Oingo & Boingo, outright calling it one of the funniest things he had ever seen. He was 54 years old at the time, and even now at 70 years old he still has VERY fond memories of the chapters/episode (he has watched all Parts of the anime, and read the manga all the way up to 2/3rds of Part 8)

Razgar_dar

I played basketball when I was young, then got introduced to judo in my early teens to late teens. Once while getting up, my fat ass brother decided to flop straight on my side making my ribcage smash together I had to take pills for weeks.

Lemon Rat

Thank you for the episode! I hope you're feeling alright today both of you, much love <3

Rick Baron

If it's about big burly dudes fighting in prison and it starts with a "B" it should be Baki, it could also be JoJo part 6 but there's not as many dudes there

Rick Baron

There's only 1 card from tarot left "the world" which they suppose is Dio's, there's also hol horse still at large with "the emperor"

Enchiladas

ik people have said it but I think it's definitely Baki

Alexandre Géhin

maybe have your dad to react to some of the music you listen to, or anime openings or smtg like that? if he hasn't already

18C

If its insanely huge men big and muscly, definitely Baki

Zerodeus

"Likes women, but doesn't want to hear them talk." This is unfortunately a common viewpoint to see online.

Divi Forrester

Anubis having a development potential of C is entirely bullshit lmao

Liesmith

I'm going to assume that Ant's coworker was referring to My Hero Academia, and mistook an episode about the sports festival as "a bunch of kids in prison fighting in an arena".

Alex

The "Stand stats" in general are kind of hokum, mostly because the scaling makes no sense and are sometimes inaccurate. If I'm not mistaken, Araki said he added them because he felt like it would make it easier for readers to grasp a Stand's strength and abilities at a glance, like Pokemon (though they were added to the Part 3 anime, they actually started appearing in the manga in Part 5, which Pokemon released a year into its run).

Okoga

I have a cousin I had not seen in quite a few years come over to a family gathering, partway through the night someone brought up Smash bros and he goes, "No, I hate that game, I practiced all the time but whenever we played you still beat my ass and I will never forget." I had completely forgotten that I babysat him a bunch when he was like 8. I really hope I didn't do what your Dad did when I won but it might be funnier if I did.
