This moment was CRAZY in the game. Normally dropping to 0 HP is your character being incapacitated/knocked out. But when Matt the DM asks Vex's player Laura if the damage from the trap brings her below 0, she quickly realizes with horror that she's much worse then unconcious.

Syldor Vessar (Asshole dad) is a full elf. The twins Vex and Vax are half-elves. They lived with that stigma because he had an affair with a human woman. They lived with their mother for the longest, but eventually he came and took them away from her, as they're his children.

For Ant, I will say. One of the players did make a new character during the course of this campaign. Won't say who did it, and why though.

Yeah this was a turning point in the game. This was the first time a character died in the group on stream. Apparently Pike died previously during their home games, before stream and they found a way to bring her back but it was supposedly really hard and a close call. But this was the first one with an audience and it was an emotional wrecking ball.

The thing I love about the Vox Machina Series is that it`s not following the usual criteria of other shows (like a Char dieing very early on). Because it´s just retelling the story of the Vox Machina Campaign. So don´t expect that u can predict the outcome of this ´cause anything can happen at this point. Ps: Love your Stuff keep up the good Energy.

Vex was checking for traps, but Percy went for the armor and set off the trap. He made his saving throw, but Vex rolled a nat 1. The trap brought her HP below 0, and she went dead, full stop, no death saving throw. It really shifted the tone of the show. And now you know why we defended Vex so hard.

With all the talk of Jojo and how good these voice actors are, I don't know if anyone else has pointed it out. But a couple of your series have some talent overlap. Grey Griffen voices Azula, lady Briarwood and a couple characters in invincible. Matt Mercer voicing half of vox machina is the voice of Jotaro in the English dub and Levi in AoT. With the occasional talk of one piece both Matt and Travis Willingham (grog) both have roles. Travis is also the voice of Roy Mustang in FMA where Laura Bailey (vex) voices lust

This was in fact the first time any of them had a character death in the campaign, if you look up the moment (Literally anything like "Vex dies" or the actual campaign episode "The sunken tomb") there is like a one minute clip where you can see the realization. It came out of nowhere

When Vax said their father rejected them for "what they are", it's referring to them being half-elves. Their father is a full elf, and their mother is a human; that's what the father meant when he referred to them as "diluted".

Fun in game stuff. Originally Vox Machina noticed a monster near the walls of Vasselheim and thought they were helping by killing it. Instead, they poached from the Slayer's Take who forced them to sign on with them to repay them. The group got split up into two groups where they met Zahra and Kashaw (as well as two other characters played by Felicia Day and Wil Wheaton). As guest characters. Group one went to hunt a Rakhasha, consisting of Vax, Keyleth, Tiberius (who isn't included in canon any more due to issues with the player), Wil Wheaton's character, and Kashaw. Group Two consisted of Vex, Percy, Grog, Scanlan, Felicia Day's character, and Zahra, and had to hunt a young white dragon. Kash and Zahra would later work together with Vox Machina as good friends, and help them in their search for the Deathwalker's Ward. Will Friedle (Kashaw) and Mary Elizabeth McGlynn (Zahra) would go on to be fan favorites and reoccurring allies to Vox Machina with guest appearances.

So the decision was made early on that they would remain faithful to the campaign this was based on, at least in what is crucial to the story. That unfortunately means if a character dies in the campaign (in this case due to trap with a death effect), it has to happen in the anime as well. For what it's worth, this is a key moment of the campaign, a huge change happens as a result of this.

In regards to what you mentioned in the start with people liking Ant. The first ever video I've watched from your channel was the JoJo's opening reaction. Which also included Ant since from there you two went on to start reacting to JoJo, so having mostly been watching Vox Machina and JoJo with you two it's been fun. Ant feels like a great person to have around as a duo commentator since you both bounce off each other well in fun ways. So yeah I can definitely say I'm in the party of liking Ant around since it's just fun seeing your dynamic together as friends shine.

Laura (Vex) was in the middle of an investigation check when Taliesin (Percy) decided to touch the artifact. Taliesin passed his saving throw. Laura rolled a natural 1 on the 20 sided die (which is next level failure). The look on Taliesin's face when he realized he killed off Laura's character... Fun fact: Laura Bailey's character in campaign 2 spends a lot of her free time in game drawing dicks.

Just for nerd knowledge, Vex and Vax are half-elves (kiki is too) which means they are half human, half elf. Elves are SUPER racist towards half-elves in this universe.

When I play single player games I try to keep the npcs alive. Like I’ve actually re loaded saves to keep my favorite npcs alive. Like in Skyrim or Halo.

I kinda remember the final scene in the podcast. I remember no one rolled high enough to notice the trap and Percy set it off, don't remember what spell it was, like power word kill or something, only Vex was affected and the spell effect was instant dead, no death saving throws, just dead, perfectly healthy one minute, your HP are now 0, you die.

Just a fun bit from the campaign; Percy ACTUALLY was the one that got the cursed sword first, but when it first spoke to him he noped out and gave it Grog. A lot of the side characters are quite different than their campaign counter parts (Zahra and Allura having almost opposite initial personalities), but not Kash, Kashaw is and always was a dick and I love him for it.

I was so surprised when they made Zahra into such a b**** when she was an absolute sweetheart in the campaign. They changed quite a bit for the show, but it makes sense, I guess, to help the narrative flow more smoothly. Can’t incorporate everything from a thousand-hour campaign into a show.
