Love this episode

The great thing about this show is all the characters are so complicated and it really makes you think. A lot of them have done some questionable and even terrible things and you wouldn't normally like characters who do the stuff they did, but they humanize them in a way so it's difficult to hate them. It's the case with Roy (and many other beloved characters) - he killed a lot of people but we still care for him as a character. It's all very complex.

AzulSora

ngl, the terrifying thing about Bradley, is that he's so strong and fast in the instances he's shown in combat situations that you forget he's *60* years old. Makes you wonder, just how strong was he in his prime.

Robert

Welcome to Fullmetal Alchemist and our cast of trauma beans.

Yahroh

Alecia focusing on the arm not having tatoos wondering how he got that arm but completely missing the fact this dude missing a scar on his face . lol beautiful running moments

Christo Badenhorst

the thing about FMAB - there is very little charachters ( except the homoculus ) that you can point out and say are bad people.. SCAR is so well written where if you saw the anime from his point of view. I'm sure you would be routing for him to kill the the state alcamist that killed all their people.. but the anime does such a good job in showing both sides. what he is doing is wrong but only because we are not seeing it form his perspective only and I love that. Best thing about this whole show is the fucking characters man. they did it so well with winrey as well. she not wanting to kill is soo goood

The ending of this episode always chokes me up. I love this show so much.

Miklar Sihn

I still have a feel good character... Gluttony. He is just a big hungy boy.

Miklar Sihn

Winry is definitely best girl. Best woman goes to Gracia though. Every time we see her she is just the best and if anything, Hughes married up.

Raphael

I would recommend to watch the next 4 episodes together just because the 4th episode has a good stopping point that won’t make you feel broken like this episode did.

Fobbles

I love these reactions! Hmmm I wonder why the reactions paused on this episode today- oooooohhhhh that’s right

james blaire

lmao thats basically full metal alchemist, we dont fuck around but stick around and find out :D

Wearelazy

♪let it all ooouut♫ I was waiting for that ending song to fully hit with this episode...this episode is why that ending is my favorite

Wolfman

Scar is definitely one of my favorite characters ever. When introduced, I think he sees himself as a martyr, one who condems himself to be a monster so that he may get his righteous vengeance. However, in this moment he truly saw what being a monster would lead him to becoming, the very same as the ones that took his family and home from him. He even uses alchemy, the weapon of the monster he despises most. Also, and this is entirely speculation on my part, while he hates Amestrians, when he saw Winry in place of himself after Ed defended her, I think he may have realized he wouldn't wish his path on another.

PearseNation

This is the episode that gets me the most. Specifically when Ed slowly loosens her grip on the gun.

Keep that Supply of tissues going. This is FMA - feels metal alchemist

NerdyGothKitty

How has no one brought up how cool it is that Ed and Scar's brother BOTH gave their right arms to save their brother? Such a nice parallel and a lot of great messages in this episode.

Ace's Faves

Ending Song Lyrics: "Let it all out"... Like yea that's what I'm doing dawg.

Logan Baxter

gotta say, watching episodes like this where alicia ends in tears and Patreon's player just autoloops back to the beginning is _wild_

Nathan

Even though some things are predictable or contrived, that's just because they are sort of allegorical or hypothetical. It's like, there are poeple who do save lives in war, and innocents who are hurt, and their families who are affected and transform from good people to hateful, vengeful people. In real life, they would never meet, never be as entangled in a single connefacted circle. But it's important that we imagine what if we DID meet the nameless, faceless people that our actions hurt. Would we still be able to justify our actions?

Princess Paladin

I am just going to assume you were joking, because wanting her to actually pick up a gun and use it is way too gross otherwise. Like, let's actually not encourage a teenage girl to mess around with firearms and shoot people?? please???? XD

Easy Mode - A.I

Stopping the tears is one of the hardest parts of this episode during the initial reveal.

Let It All Out

The last scene between Winry and Ed is one of my favorite scenes in the whole series, just great writing and and voice acting.

Rat#394

You want a plot twist? Here's good ol' dick twist.

I think I finally subbed just so you could buy a box of tissues on me. Stay hydrated!

Marith Lizard

Oof. I'm really glad you're okay now. And the story you told about visiting your aunt's grave made me think of something. FMAB is a phenomenal masterwork of shonen anime, and the work I'd set next to it on the shoujo side is Fruits Basket. I think you'd _really_ enjoy it, hopefully as something to react to but if not as something to watch or read on your own.
