One detail I always liked here is that Endeavor, rather than thinking about his career or himself being ruined in this moment, was only thinking about Toya being alive. It really pushes home his regret and the value he did have in his family, even though it was consumed by his own desire.

I do love how well this shows the way perspective shapes how things are seen, with Dabi saying Endeavor made the mom keep having kids, but from Endeavors flashback, it was a mutual idea because while Endeavor was still trying for his perfect kid, the mom thought having more siblings would be good for their kids. Dabi isn't wrong that Endeavor was shit tier father, but he twisting everything into being the worst possible take on things he can.... and doing it so well...... then Best jeanist pulls up with the single best way to shoot down most of Dabi's credibility. This is how you do a reveal even when the majority of the audience already figure it out!

Wanna point out that Shoto was calling his dad "dad" and even crying while trying to get him to refocus. The VA was killin' it too. Brings a tear to my eyes when rewatching.

I'm loving how much you're enjoying the Dabi payoff! Dabi's (Literal) Dance. It's SOOO good! XD This is one of my favourite examples of: "So what if some people on Reddit figured it out? If that's the story you wrote, keep it. Rewriting it to one-up people on the internet who 'Outsmarted' you will just make your story shit. All your foreshadowing and threads will make no sense or go nowhere" George R.R. Martin discussed this in an interview (with Stephen King). I love this. Reward your audience for their Media Literacy 8) (& Don't punish them because you have Ego) Watching Shoto PLEADING with his dad to get it together is heartbreaking. All while Endeavour is frozen with trauma while Dabi looks ready to Kamikaze himself right here (he already finished what he spent years setting up). Also, Best Jeanist's entrance here is UP there as one of the greatest in the show (& there are a lot of good ones!) Finally, the ED isn't normally like this. They added the Baby Toya /Dabi bit for this ep. There are more... heartbreaking changes in the ED for episodes 3 & 9.
