Cinema8 has proven to be an extremely unstable and creator-unfriendly hosting platform.
Over the past period, uploads were frequently throttled, and 4K / 8K videos were heavily compressed without warning or justification.
These were not isolated incidents — they happened repeatedly.

The most direct consequence is this:

L4 💎 and L5 👑 premium members did not receive the high-quality viewing experience they paid for and deserved.
This is not the fault of our members, nor of the works themselves — it is a platform-level failure.

This is unacceptable.

Solution｜Premium Content Fully Returning to Vimeo

Effective immediately, all L4 / L5 premium works will be migrated back to Vimeo for playback.

There is only one reason for this decision:
👉 Vimeo remains the most reliable platform when it comes to image quality, bitrate stability, and overall viewing experience.

That said, this decision is not without risk.

Vimeo enforces strict content moderation policies, and
the only risk involved is potential content review or takedown.

Stricter Review Standards for This Migration

To ensure that premium works can remain on Vimeo long-term, stably, and viewable without interruption,
all returning L4 / L5 works will undergo a renewed review process:

• Re-evaluating artistic intent and visual presentation

• Carefully controlling visual and narrative boundaries

• Selecting and adjusting works based on art-film / cinematic standards

This is not a compromise.
It is a necessary step to ensure the work survives — and is experienced as intended.

Compensation for L4 / L5 Premium Members

If you are an L4 💎 or L5 👑 member whose subscription was active during the Cinema8 playback issue period,
and you were unable to properly view 4K / 8K premium content, please send me a private message.

After the migration and review process is fully completed,
eligible members will receive via private message:
