Yeah, not only did they get Draper to lie, they asked her to do a complete 180 from who she is as a person. She wanted to come out hot against Earth and go to war, and now they're completely supplicating to them. And then question the honour of her team? oof, I feel sorry for her. I think Chrisjen played that interview with Draper wrong, imo, by coming on too hard. Yeah she got her to say what she did but Draper got so overwhelmed she reset and shutdown. I love how Alex interacts with the Roci. It really makes her a character, despite there being no AI voice. I'm honestly glad they didn't go that route, it would have been cheap. I also really loved how they showed the Martians being affected by Earth. The extreme light sensitivity from living underground, the gravity despite training at 1 g... Just really cool. Such a great episode, can't wait for the next one!

In the books they talk about Bobbie being Polynesian... it's crazy to me that she is from a culture that is influenced heavily by their proximity to the ocean and yet she has never seen one with her own eyes. It breaks me every time.

I agree that Chrisjen played that for the room. Had she been talking alone with Bobbie, she would've gotten a lot more information. I think she wanted to show the Martians that she was on to them and that she was the real power in the room. Great stuff, G!

Soon as you said you loved the Avasarala speech to Errinwright in one of the previous episode I immediately thought about this peace summit. She throws her most savages lines in this episode. "Whoever the f*ck you are, stand down and let her speak!" Similarly, some of the things you said in your review make me immediatly think of scenes in future episodes. I know I'm a broken record but these reactions couldn't come sooner! And I appreciate what you said about Holden. I think he's often under-appreciated in the community. Also fun fact : If you end up reacting to Stargate SG-1 you will recognize the husband of the Weeping Somnambulist crew as the early seasons main villain. Always a pleasure Beratna! You seem to enjoy the way The Expanse universe was created. In interviews with co-authors Daniel Abraham and Ty Frank, Daniel gives Ty full credit for laying out the structure for the game. %here was some discussion that maybe they could write some books ( bor pizza money). Daniel was already a publshed author; Ty was not. There are some interesting interviews on how they shared writing duties, and it's obviou yhey yaught each othrt a ;pt

Fun Fact, the Martian compound on Earth was filmed at the high school of one of the show's reactors, Failwhale34 who lives in Toronto. He recognized the school of course and was thrilled to see it in the show! Can you imagine never having seen a bird flying ever before?!

Maybe this is a stupid question. I don't understand why you do a backwards countdown instead of having the counter track where you are to match the show counter. I've only watched one other reactor on Patreon and they matched the show counter so I could always track with them when an ad break happened. What am I missing here?

I'm going to agree with Lauralyn here. On Amazon prime, for me, this episode is 45:06 long. Yet your counter begins at 43:30. So a backwards counting timer only helps me find my place if I know the delta between the version you're watching and I'm watching and I do the math to figure out where to adjust.

Thanks, Chad, that's what I thought I'd need to do for it to help at all - so I can't understand what the other purpose might be to do a countdown instead of matching the forward count. So I'm glad to hear I wasn't alone.

bobbie didn't shut down & reset because of avasaralla she did it because her martian superior told her "do as you've been instructed" meaning what mars has instructed her to do..lie that's why bobbie went back to the martian narrative. avasaralla handled her perfectly & got her to expose the two things mars was trying to cover up..that un fired first & there was a "thing" without a vac suit
