This episode uses one of my favorite tropes ever: The clip show of clips we haven’t seen. (My second favorite being a part 2 where part 1 didn’t exist, like in Venture Bros). Lets you tell auick stories where maybe there wasn’t enough for a b-c-d plot, or let’s the writers make up stuff, it’s just always a blast. Those morality lesson aliens are from the Animated Series so when you get to them, try to look surprised. And glad to hear you’re starting “The Boys”. The quintessential “Don’t bother with the source material” show, just like “Preacher” (gee, both by the same guy).

HaHa when I see them in the Animated Series I'll try to sell it :D Completely agree about the The never-before-seen clip/flashback trope. Absolutely great!

This is my ultimate comfort episode not just of Lower Decks but all of Star Trek, the ending with them all reaffirming their friendship even if things are growing and changing always makes me feel so warm and fuzzy inside. That's one of the things Lower Decks has done better than any other Trek to me, created truly deep and meaningful friendships between the characters.

Warp Reactor

Completely agree. The characters' development both within themselves and with each absolutely sets Lower Decks apart from the Trek that I've seen (Strange New Worlds is close but LDs still wins :) )
