A fun start to the new season! The alternate Boimler was being extremely Riker-like, between the beard, the confidence, and the frequency he gets to command. He even did the 'Riker Maneuver' of using his height to lift his leg over the chair back right at the end there! This is just speculation, but what if this Brad hung around Riker's ship in season 2 for a lot longer? Maybe he didn't get transporter duplicated? Or maybe we'll get some crazy stuff with the (prime universe) Section 31 duplicate? I doubt they'll drop that story thread entirely...

Remember in the season two finale when Mariner says, "I don't want a whole new captain. We could end up with some weirdo with a riding crop!" I guess you either die a hero or live long enough to become that weirdo :-)

Finally catching up with your reactions! (Had a busy few weeks) so glad the show is back and so happy to watch these videos again, definitely an important part of the LD viewing experience
