I was a little disappointed in the finale, although I liked it better on the rewatch. Some things seemed off in Nina's backstory. The fact that the cops would shoot an unarmed man in the back, well at least in front of so many witnesses and cameras, seemed a bit weird. This is definitely a situation where I felt the hand of the author at work. You already mentioned it seemed weird that Nina ended up in Belle Reve. Sure, I could see her being captured initially but unlike Weasel she is able to speak English. It seems like her only crime was possibly trespassing? If Weasel had a lawyer fighting for his rights it seems like Nina shouldn't have ended up in a place like Belle Reeve. Something also seemed off with the Clayface thing. If we assume the princess sent him to discredit Circe's story, I feel like he could have done a better job at it. Sure, he acted weirdly at the Professor's classes, and maybe that would have eventually gotten back to Waller even without Flagg, but it just seems like an inefficient way to discredit Circe's vision. At the end of the day though, I enjoyed the show and look forward to season two. One wider universe thought. In the trailer for the new Superman, we see a kid in a warzone holding up a Superman flag. What if the princess being killed destabilized the region? Maybe Pokolistan invades a nearby country, which gets Superman involved? And maybe that puts him in conflict with other heroes or at odds with the US government, which is trying to stay out of the mess? Who knows? BTW- Star City is Green Arrows stomping grounds.

I caught the Star City faux pas in the edits! Its been awhile since I've traveled outside of the Gotham City Limits :D My Swiss cheese brain is a little rustier than usual! I share several of your observations but I too thought it was cool and definitely deserving of a Season 2. The war in the Superman trailer is a good call about potential ramifications! Thank you for watching, my friend!
