Ooh spooky, it was probably your Mum screaming so as to get you back to bed🤣. I prefer kfb as well unless the M1l or r is specifically a feature and even then I often still substitute it. My favourite spooky story comes from the 1980’s when I was working in the Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders regimental museum in Stirling Castle. I was working in the little library which was out of the public’s way when the Colonel came in accompanied as usual by his black Labrador. Except the dog would not come into the room, he stood on the threshold snarling and you could see his fur standing on end( he was usually the loveliest, friendliest dog). Then the room got colder and colder until we could see our breath even though I was sitting next to the radiator and it was roasting hot. Then the window rattled furiously and the rocks( the library was on the sheer cliff side of the castle) outside started a mini avalanche. After that the temperature rose in the room and the Colonel looked at me, raised his eyebrows and said “ every time I come in here this happens”!

It was probably a fox because they have a very weird and freaky sound/ noises. I heard a very weird sound some years ago and as an 12 year old as you were, that would have been a very scary sound indeed. I checked it up when I came home from that walk I was on and it turned out to be a fox. Male red foxes make noises similar to the sound of a screaming woman to warn off competing mates.

Well done Dan. Love the colours you are working with. And, oh, such a creepy story. Can just see you running to get back into bed 🛌

What a great hat pattern Dan. I got it from Ravelry & I had a ball of Malibrigo Rios “Diana” that I have had for a number of years now but your right the perfect yarn for the hat. So of I went didn’t take long to knit up lots of fun. Thanks for the suggestion. Cheers Christine
