Oh my! This is going to look absolutely beautiful. I can’t wait to cast on later today 🥰💕💕

Mary Flowers

What a festive stitch! Can't wait to start.

Gerrie C

Oh my goodness!! I'm not sure where to start!!! 💕💕 How sweet is the start of this pattern! I was super excited to hear it was mitts, and now that I have seen the beginning I can't wait to cast on after dinner tonight!! 🎄🧶✨ I love how I learn new stitches and techniques every advent ✨ Thank you Kay! 💕 I am also struck by all the festive details and little Christmas twinkles throughout the cottage, so beautifully and thoughtfully decorated by Kay and Dan 🎄 So pretty. I am just completely besotted with this cute little cottage! 🏠 And finally, Dan, the landscapes and snowfall while Kay is reading are so perfect. So atmospheric. Just beautiful! ❄️ Only day three and I'm on cloud nine already! 💕 Happy Cast On Day Everyone!! ✨🧶🎄

Joanne Bourgeois

What an interesting start, but I have a request, there’s no way 56 stitches is fitting over my hand, so I’ll need to increase, is there a “multiple” I need to consider?

The Bakery Bears

You’ll need a multiple of 2, plus you may have to add a few extra gusset increases. With some common knitting knowledge you’ll be able to make any other adjustments ❤️

Elizabeth Munzert

I have small hands so could I adjust the stitch count down by 4 stitches?

Amanda Cherry

Please don’t worry about using this stitch, I’m doing the Tellybean Merry Making MKAL and today she release the exact same stitch pattern lol It’s a popular festive stitch this year!

Knitty Banter

These mitts are going to look super cute! Love the pattern already. Looking forward to casting mine on!

Lindsey-Brooke

This is a beautiful beginning to our mitts Closing my curtains and pretending that the snowy scenes Dan added are right outside my window as I knit ❄️

M. Moroney

I was holding off starting the mitts because I was hoping to find out whether any stranded knitting would be involved, because if the pattern includes stranded knitting I would prefer to use non-superwash yarn. I understand that since this is a mystery KAL I may just have to wait until more of the pattern has been revealed, and that's fine. I'm enjoying the videos!

Teemarie

Same here! I'm going to start with a needle size down to keep the same count and not have to fuss with the gusset bit.

Nicki

Loving the start of this pattern and can't wait to get these cast on, hopefully tomorrow!

Randi

pausing just to say that the first cast-on stitch of the long tail cast on was revolutionary for me, hahaha. i have been doing a slip knot this whole time! i didnt know i could eliminate that knot! how exciting.

Lisa K

This is going to be a fantastic design! And I needed the snow and Christmas lights to get through December 3rd, it's so lovely.

Cyndy Lee

Kay, don't feel like you have to justify using a particular stitch in your designs! It's no different than if someone picked out a stitch in a stitch dictionary and used it in their own design. I'm sure there are many stitches out there that can be seen in many other knitted items. You can do as you please with YOUR designs and what stitches you choose! And they are always beautiful!

Francien

Lovely pattern 🎄🎄🎄

Jo Searle

So excited to start these mitts. Do I knit the second one exactly the same? Do I place the stitch markers in the same place as well? Xx

Theresa Savaria

Kay, you are so professional. Social media can be a negative place. So I understand why you clarified using a certain stitch. Unfortunately I wouldn’t be able to make these mitts until January 2025. However, I

Susan McDermid

Lovely, as always! The more designers and the more stitches used the merrier! 👍

Patricia Switzer

Dan and Kay you have made the season so special…exactly how I want Christmas to be and I so Love the sweet mitts so feminine I’m doing mine in cream and a variegated green pink and red holiday color way and love them so much I plan on many more pairs to put away for next year as I think they make the sweetest little gift

The Bakery Bears

It’s there Karen, if you’re on the app switch to a browser, or if you’re on a browser try closing it down and logging in again

Anne aka TobyKnits

Whoo hoo…I guessed it would be mitts and so looking forward to making these.

Randi

Pattern note, in case anyone else was confused. The PDF is not available for me in the web browser, only in the app. It was no problem to download the app (and i might prefer to use it!) and then access pattern. Not sure if this is a just me issue (I AM using my work laptop after all), but just sharing in case anyone else was lost.

Sarah Brockhausen

I am so loving watching every day and I love mkal's. I am holding off dor the second project as timewise it works better for me, but getting excited about casting on!

Penelope dubois

During the story reading, those snowy pictures are to great! This will surely get everyone in the spirit of Christmas!!

The Bakery Bears

Thank you so much Penelope! We're trying to bring the story to life a bit and we're so thrilled you're enjoying it x

Marilyn Wheatley

Such a pretty pattern. I can’t wait to knit these darling mitts.

Eva , Austrianlady

I love this pattern. I cast on but the 56 are way too big for me. Kay , could I do 48 stitches? Thank you Kay and Dan for all your hard work!!

LYSA J LYON

Binge watching the advent series. I have been a subscriber since the beginning and enjoy everything you post. I have been a crafter since my childhood 50+ yrs and obsessed with knitting for the past probably 30+ yrs. I always learn something new from you, Kay! ❤ I am always wanting to improve my skills and appreciate the things you share. The cast on technique without a knot, and how you join in the round… GENIUS! I do not post much but am constantly laughing along, talking to and participating with you and Dan as I watch all the things. I forget that we have never met because after all these years I feel like we are neighbors who have coffee/tea on the regular 😊 We are blessed by what you both do and hope you know that you are appreciated and loved by many! Happy New Year!
