Hi Dan! I knit the Clayoquot this year, and it came out HUGE! I ended up talking to an experienced knitter about my mistakes, and then ripping back down to where the sleeves join. I took out 3 inches from the sleeves, and re-knit the color work. Now it fits, but it is too long! I am going to do sweater surgery and cut off the colorwork at the bottom. :( I will re-knit the ribbing and be done with it. I am super frustrated, but I have learned a lot for my next colorwork project.

Keep on working at it Dan! You are doing a fabulous job! I think that the hat is gorgeous! I think that the heat wave is throwing you off. It is harder and very uncomfortable knitting large items in the summer as you feel stifled. I am sorry that you do not have air conditioning, I do not think that I could live without it. I do feel your pain though, it must be so difficult to adapt when the temperatures are extreme. I am used to it because live on the Canadian Prairies and 30C is common here in the summer. It is the humidity though that drives up the temperature even more so that I do not do anything as I start to sweat. It was very bad this summer for me as I kept getting a "heat fever". I would have to take a freezing cold shower just to lower my body temperature; not fun. Keep the faith!
