Welcome to our ’Festive Knitting’ series.

At last we have arrived at the 'Festive Knitting' season!! One of our most favourite projects to make at this time of year are Kay's 'Snowfall Socks'. They knit up super quick and they are just the ideal gift for someone special or just for you!

So, as we prepare for the launch of 'The Bakery Bears Advent Calendar 2019', we thought it would be wonderful to take a look back at the special series Kay recorded just for you.

In the first part of the series you'll join Kay as she:

  • Introduce's you to the 'Snowfall Socks' and explains how she came to design them
  • Show's you the yarn she's using, you'll be surprised!
  • Show's you how to cast on and knit the ribbing for the socks

The series will then continue as follows:

  • Part 2 ‘Knitting the leg’ - 12th November
  • Part 3 ‘Creating your heel flap and turn’ - 14th November
  • Part 4 ‘Dealing with the Gusset’ - 19th November
  • Part 5 ’Toe Decreases’ - 21st November

There is no written pattern for these socks, Kay created the design exclusively for this tutorial series and she'll take you through every stage within the video's.

Thank you so much for watching and we'll see you next week with the more from this series!

If I need to increase in size, is there a number of stitches that will not interrupt the pattern?

I have always knit socks with double pointed needles. I have never quite got the hang of magic loop. Interesting to see you do it....I know there must be a tutorial I need to watch! Maybe I need to add it to my knitting musts for 2020!
